Cook, Serve, Delicious!

Super fun typing game that really emulates the feeling of working a kitchen during rush hour lol. Definitely not a relaxing game, but it's easy to jump in and out of since it's so simple mechanically. There's a little bit of a grind and I kind of wish there was more foods unlocked for 4 and 5 star restaurants, but there's no lack of content and fun value in the game as-is. Highly recommend!

Another game where I wish I could pick a neutral option instead of do/don't recommend. The game is fun but gets repetitive fast, limited food selection to unlock and frustrating hotkeys for ingredients/actions. So much so, i've tried finishing the game twice after hearing that the writing is good, but just couldn't bring myself to do so. If you're on the fence, grab it on sale.

When I looked up some reviews about Cook, Serve, Delicious before playing, I saw people describe it as the Dark Souls of cooking games, and I thought "how is that even possible?". I tell you what though, that is far closer to the truth than I expected it to be. Imagine a Papa's Ria game, but stressful. If Papa's Ria is something like Gordon Ramsey with kids, then Cook Serve Delicious is Hell's Kitchen Gordon Ramsey. This doesn't mean the game is bad though, in fact, far from it. This game is REALLY fun, hard, but really fun. It can be addicting to get into the groove with the recipes, picking out good synergies for each day, and setting yourself to have new goals. The game has a lot of spots for progression, from the obvious star rankings, to trying to get badges for each of the types of food served, to trying to collect all the cooks for the battle mode. They really perfected the feeling of getting better over time, not just from your skills but also from your dishes simply getting better. Now, this doesn't mean the game is without flaws. Obviously the biggest issue is the difficulty. This game is not cozy, it is not simple, and if you are lacking on speed or precision, you will mess up a lot and you may very well feel frustrated by that. A lot of people don't see the later parts of the game according to the achievements and I am not shocked. Plus, the game can get very repetitive. While some people like myself love the feeling of slowly improving your skills and seeing small incremental changes, it is a lot of the same stuff. You've pretty much seen most of the game from the midway point and it gets more so into perfecting your craft after a certain point. Even towards the end trying to get the platinum five stars, it was more like a waiting game than anything else. Cook Serve Delicious is very fun, and I do recommend it, but buyer beware if this is the type of game that you want to play or else you may be more frustrated than having a good time.

[h1] You're Never too Young for a Vietnam Flashback [/h1] If you're in the service industry, especially as a line cook. Playing this game is going to make you feel like that one old dude who's a veteran farming sniper clips on Battlefield. This game is realistic. Not in the sense that you're cooking food with extreme detail but its realistic in the sense that it perfectly captures the exact feeling you're going to feel when you start to get busy during rush hour while working as a cook. While it isn't required to have a "PERFECT DAY" on every in game day, you're going to be cursing at yourself every time you make a mistake because much like with real cooking, once you add an ingredient you can't take it back out. Every mistake is your own fault in a way not a lot of games are able to replicate. The game will have you starting from nothing to running a 5 Star restaurant. You have many different options of foods to put up on your daily menu while challenges like "Crazy Dave's Bets" the "CookBet" cookbot will tell you to put specific foods up and have something like a 50x perfect combo, Baked Potatoes are the death of me in this game actually. Why is butter bound to Y by default??? Alongside those you have some other challenge events like the "Iron Cook" or the "Hungry Festivities" challenges. Whereas you need to cook waves of food in perfection or else you fail. These challenges had almost made me repeat history. [/url] Yeah I felt like that guy playing this. In the best way possible. Cook, Serve, Delicious, will have you at the edge of your seat trying to perfect each and every Cooking Mama or WarioWare-esque cooking minigames. Minutes will turn into hours and hours into days constantly thinking "alright just one more day and I'll play something else". Then you finish the day and see an E-mail from Crazy Dave. Looks like you're going to go again. This game is often super cheap, Plays like a Flash game from the early 2000s and is probably one of the most addicting games I've played. I think everyone should play this absolute masterpiece.

Dark Souls of cooking/typing games

It’s not the best game for unwinding, but it’s one of the best writing (and cooking) games. Frantic and exhausting but addictive, the best place to start the series, which practically replicates the gruelling nature of a shift during rush hour. I hope your fingers are in good shape if you're playing on a keyboard.
