Vampire: The Masquerade — Out for Blood

It's alright. I'd say 7 out of 10. The beginning is good, the end is good, the middle is wildly rushed, like they had to meet a deadline and rushed stuff. It would have been WAY BETTER if the pace was slower and there was more investigative opportunities. There's also a few spots where the choices it saddles you with are really stupid and out of character. You also only get like, three opportunities to spend and earn exp, which is a dumb idea. The writing for the most part wasn't too bad, and was even good at some points, but there were a few spots that were Tarantino-ish in a "insert writer's barely disguised fetish here" sort of way. There's also a lot of graphic animal violence, so be prepared for that. Also whomever wrote it doesn't know much about firearms. You don't typically put a scope and a suppressor on a shotgun, and an AR-15 and a Remington 700 bolt action don't qualify as "assault rifles." ROTC isn't an equivalent to active duty or even reserve military. It is about equivalent to boy scouts and Civil Air Patrol with how it prepares you for military service, as in not a lot depending on which branch you go into. A character who went ROTC only and washed out would never be considered to have served in the military in any capacity in real life. Otherwise, it wasn't bad and the mystery was engaging. Worth a shot, but be prepared for weirdness.

The story feels incredibly short, the characters ultimately kind of forgettable and shallow, the scripting breaks at multiple points... it's just all over the place. The tone! Oh man the tone is- it's not great. Just go and get Werewolf: The Apocalypse - The Book of Hungry Names. It's so much better as an interactive story. I hear Night Road is good too but I am yet to play it.

Considering the absolute glut of good VtM RPGs, this is fine. I liked the writing, I enjoyed the fact it's progressive in both letting you be queer, and having multiple queer characters in it. For some reason though, it won't let me romance more than one character without forcing me to either choose one or none of them. ♥♥♥♥ that. It's a text-based RPG. You can't get away with saying it would be too much work.

[h2][i]"....That's a really weird thing to say."[/i][/h2] A pleasantly-sized VN, one where stats are actually pretty important at that. The writing is more light-hearted in this one—like a mystery adventure with the VTM skin. This is unorthodox but a welcome change of pace to the usual angst and dour themes we're accustomed with. The plot tends to wrap itself up quickly after the first few chapters which is my main concern with this and the vast majority of these WoD VNs, but at least it does feel like a complete experience. I enjoyed my time overall, and would recommend on sale.

A good use of the branching path system this series is known for with a satisfying theme and fun characters that feel as if they were plucked right out of a 1980 slasher movie. Genuinely having a fun time with this one!

The only thing I can honestly say is just pass on this. It's meh at best.

This is my first game by this company and all i can say is yes. Very often I play a game and after I do I am left with nothing but a empty, well that was a waste of time feeling. This one however is one of the good one's throughout the whole game i was able to picture my charecter and all the others. As well as the Enviroment so vividly in my mind that i often lost track of time. Pair that with me sitting in my house listining to music and cleaning and a chill song painting a picture of my charecter and Salem sitting in the bookshop and house relaxing. Dam good game worth every minuit i put in. 9.5 out of 10 will play agian
