honestly, bad
If you fancy working with a bunch of sexy vampires who have a few problems with social niceties and pretending to be human, this VN may suit you. Its the second in a series, but is complete in itself and a recap of what happened in the first book of the series could bring you up to speed, you can even make major choices at key moments, though its more fun to read the first book first because you would miss out on quite a few seemingly trivial but important things that influence how everything unfolds. You can choose whether you are male or female, and your sexual preferences (or not if you don't want a romance), and you also have choices that do have a bearing on how the story unfolds and what is revealed as the protagonist, their BFF, colleagues and vampires wander around what seems to be rapidly becoming "Supernatural Central", while keeping anything supernatural hidden and fighting the bad guys (human and not-so-human). The romance can be as hot or as angst-ridden as you want, and there is the option to choose whether to indulge in the full blown sex scenes or not, and most times when it comes to making a choice your options are reasonably varied, though to give the plot a nudge they might appear to be limited. What I enjoyed about this book, its predecessor and successor as well, is that we can also imagine the setting for this series and choose not only which continent or country we are in, but also what part of that country we are in. Readers are not railroaded into being in a world that may be completely alien, except for the supernatural bit. The writing is good, the characters are well-rounded with their little foibles and its easy to relate to them as I'm sure most of us have met someone who could have been the model for them, even the more incidental ones. There is plenty of replayability, exploring all the different options and discovering hints about how the plot may unfold, and whether all is as it appears on the surface. If you like visual novels and making choices to affect the plot, then give this series a go. Its a good natured romp through the countryside with a bunch of likeable people who mostly behave exactly like our friends do in real life.
A fantastic sequel. Well worth the read and experience. The author does a fantastic job of weaving this story and really dedicates a wonderful amount of time to character development, both personal and relationship wise.
Played this game on a different platform so i have many more hours than shown. Wayhaven is a great story that at no point got boring for me and has enjoyable writing. I especially love how the romance is paced. You get to know who the characters are and become attached to each. When romance becomes an option it doesn't just throw you into it, rather the pacing takes it slow making it overall much more enjoyable when something happens. Especially when compared to the many other CoG games I've played. Absolutely would recommend!
