About
Fly Through the Night

We've all had that dream where you're flying in the sky only to wake up to your boring terrestrial life, but dream no more! Fly around as a bat with unique movement that re-contextualizes precision platformer trappings and flips them upside-down!
Old-School Charm

Limitations were imposed on the palette, sprite size, and audio fidelity to really deliver on that old-school feeling. Retaining the difficulty of retro games, but with modern design sensibilities so you wont be throwing your rectangular controller.
Open World

it's tough out there, but you can take it at your own pace. If you're ever stuck on a challenge, you can easily take a different path and find another way forward.
Carve Your Own Path

There are plenty of routes you can take through the game, but there's gotta be one that's the best, right? The world is designed to let players experiment with routing and find the fastest, or easiest, way through the game, depending on if you're hardcore or looking for something more chill.

Really adorable and really fun!! The pixel art itself is gorgeous, and the music really sets the mood. I enjoy these types of games with unique/weird control schemes and once you get used to the flapping mechanic it's a lot of fun to try and figure out the challenges.
just the right amount of challenge. soundtrack goes hard. the bat is adorable. you gotta play this
10/10, Would punch my balls again.
A solid platformer that is very unique in how it controls. It's also challenging, but not in the sense that the level design is unfair; it tests your ability to control the bat's flapping in fair and creative ways, and I found myself having fun figuring it out and being rewarded with big cloves of garlic. The art is also very cute, and the music has some banger tracks (I especially love the sewer theme). Huge recommend if retro tough-but-fair platformers are up your alley. Also works fine on Steam Deck!
this game rules! tight level design, each concept is interesting and explored thoroughly, and manages to feel like a pretty light and playful experience without compromising on difficulty
Holy cow what a great little precision platformer... "ceiling-er?". Super challenging at times but really satisftying to learn its nuances. Short but worth every penny.
great game
15 Word Review: Do you like Flywrench or Campanella (from UFO 50)? Then you might love this. Full Review: Vampire's Best Friend is a momentum control platformer. The player can easily start flying around at fast speeds, but the difficulty comes from using unintuitive controls to make trajectory micro-adjustments while navigating single screen obstacle courses. For the average platformer fan, the unconventional navigation is going to be very hard to overcome. However, if you enjoy any activity that requires careful precision on a strict time limit (AKA "Threading the needle") then you will find satisfaction from playing this game. The challenges range from short introductory trials to advanced hazardous gauntlets to seemingly-impossible tasks that just require correct timing to complete. As someone who loves navigational challenges and learning the nuances of a game system, Vampire's Best Friend was an engrossing distraction. It was well worth the $10 US I spent on the game.
可爱
Excellent precision flyer (not really a platformer). If you like the mechanics of flappy bird and want to fly around in more sprawling levels, this is for you. I jumped back into this game after forgetting about it for a while and forgot how fun it was. Just don't give up when you start because so much of the game is mastering the controls and getting used to them and your time limit. You will get gud if you keep trying.
