The game starts off very strong narratively with the first battle scene literally moving me to tears. After a couple first levels the game quickly loses its emotional weight and impact and devolves into an Indiana Jones - style heroics narrative, with a cliche of villain pursuit, vengeance and trying to save the loved ones, with First World War as a backdrop. The heroic aura around the main characters clashes harshly with the reality of a global conflict and the human suffering. One of the levels involves saving a bunch of civilians trapped in an aftermath of a bombing because... they are needed to push aside a piece of ruin, so that the main characters can get to the villain. There is a palpable sense of the studio being afraid to commit to the initial vision and the artistic message, desperately trying to make it an experience 'for everyone'. Very disappointing with the emotional stakes dissipating as the story goes on. Gameplay-wise as the puzzles get more complex, the game gets bloated with backtracking, which coupled with slow movement speed of the characters gets boring and tedious. 'Historical Items' scavenger hunt further distracts from the theme of war. I will eventually finish the game piece by piece, but I definitely would not recommend it at a full price. Disappointing, especially considering the amount of highly skilled craftsmanship that was put into making this.

Probabilmente una delle migliori opere che il marchio Ubisoft sia riuscito a realizzare. Un gioco che a primo impatto pare rompicapo nasconde una sensibilità ed una profondità che riesce a sciogliere anche i cuori più duri, e lo dico in prima persona. La contestualizzazione storica (arricchita di informazioni consultabili), la trama nello specifico ed il reparto musicale raggiungono momenti apicali degni di essere chiamati opere d'arte moderne. Tutto questo, in una grafica cartonesca che nulla fa perdere al contenuto. Raccomando fortemente di provare quest'esperienza.
