Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Set in the densely cluttered streets of "Kowlong," filled with obscurity and chaos, this battle action-adventure game casts players as the "Hyoki," an entity devoid of memory and physical form. His only motive is to eradicate the monstrous beings known as "Slitterheads" crawling around the city, disguising themselves as humans.
Roaming the vibrant neon-lit cityscape, players must seek out allies among humans known as "Rarities," infiltrate and track dangerous organizations, and engage in battles harnessing the power of blood. As the suspenseful drama unfolds, delve into the mystery behind Hyoki's existence and the appearance of the Slitterheads.
The entity called "Hyoki" finds himself wandering amidst the chaos of Kowlong, plagued by the enigmatic monsters known as "Slitterheads" which mimic humans. Though bereft of all memories, he holds one resolute intention: to eradicate every last Slitterhead. Infiltrating the city, he sets out on a mission to hunt down the Slitterheads masquerading within human society.

Devoid of physical form, Hyoki's ability allows him to possess and control human bodies at will, turning the people wandering the city into his pawns. With this power he can slip through barriers, assume the identity of specific individuals, and infiltrate dangerous areas and organizations. By rapidly switching hosts, he can also traverse the city at high speed.

While human bodies are fragile, Hyoki can burn their life force, turning blood into weapons to confront the ferocious Slitterheads. Even when critically wounded, he can continue fighting by switching hosts efficiently. By possessing "Rarities", specific humans who share high sync with Hyoki, he is able to unleash even more powerful attacks and activate various abilities. The cooperative relationship with these "Rarities" holds the key to uncovering the deepening mysteries in the city of Kowlong.

It commits the worst sin a game possibly can: It takes a great concept, and makes it dull. Halfway through the experience, you'll have seen everything there is to see, fought everything there is to fight, yet you'll be expected to continue playing for a further 6hrs. During that time you will still have to deal with the paper thin characters, the broadly uninspired mission design, and a plot that is paradoxically interesting and boring simultaneously. The dullness, the aching repetition, really colours the overall experience. The streets of the city glow with a neon hum that pops on an OLED scree . The combat, whilst pretty simplistic, is frantic enough to warrant on-the-fly planning and execution, with enough combat variation between characters to keep up a good tempo as you flirt to and fro, possessing people and dodging attacks as you whittle away at your opponents. The music is achingly melancholic, tying together with the art direction to craft an atmosphere that feels hauntingly pulpy. And yet none of this matters. Because the game os just a chore to play, with a thin plot, thinner characters, and even thinner reasons to consider buying it. Avoid.

Retroactively I was positive but the fact that there is multiple points in the game that go against how the game has set up combat function is just bad design. The core concept is to body hop constantly in fights and there's multiple fights where either: A. your main characters don't show up leaving you massively underpowered B. Nobody shows up at all(Despite the game telling you that characters will randomly show up because they're magically drawn to the fight) Since the game breaks it's own rules, the counter being incorrectly set up is unforgivable. Not only does it show up incorrectly and BEFORE it's actually time to counter, sometimes it doesn't work at all. It doesn't matter if you press the directional input or not, your character will just straight up not even attempt to counter. There is multiple fights in the game where they want you to fight slitterheads as normal characters, not the super powerful rarities. This would be fine if you could upgrade the normal characters in any way otherwise you're just a punching bag that dies fast in fights that constantly fail to summon more people to jump to. The conversation was neat but it gets so bloated with just useless, time wasting conversation and then they drop something important and you just miss it till you see you have a new mission. Combat is repetitive, the counter system doesn't work 100% of the time, the indicator actually shines BEFORE it's time to counter, meaning you have to ingrain yourself in just ignoring it, or counter at a delay. This game definitely has the chinese/japanese low budget game charm like Deadly Premonition or Shadows of the damned but the same bad design choices that lock it into failure as well.
Slitterhead is a ver intersesting game that has some major PC optimization issues. I really liked the story, presentation and soundtrack. I will try to explain why I think this game has potential. First, you gotta play this game if you are an SH fan. Is it worth the full price ? No chance. I got it at a first deep discount and I got much more than I expected. Look, the gamnig media in general are calling for AA mid budget original titles and when we get one, it gets slammed. Reviews are opinions, and some criticism is valid but most of it is just unfair. This game runs well on the consoles so I don't get what this game lacks to get mostly 6s and 7/10. I will not spoil anything in this review, The story is very interesting and it is told through memories and conversations aka interactive cut scenes. There is almost no voice acting, but there is a reason for that and you will figure out why. Some aspects of the story are a bit boring but the whole concept is very original. Most of the characters have very interesting backgrounds and the whole flow of the story is great. Presentation is what makes this game unique. The art syle is great the OST is great, and this game has some really smart meta story telling that not everyone will understand. As a fan of SH 1 to 4 you will get a lot of winks from the creator of this iconic series. The main menu has a SH sound when picking up objects, some cut scenes have that dream feel, like you are playing the SH games. Big fan of Yamaoka but if I am being honest the stuff he did after SH 1-4 is more miss than hit. In this game, with a help from other talented people he made a great OST. Banger after banger, great stuff. This is more than enough for me to recommend this game. And now the ugly part. The combat is just ok but it felt like an afterthought. Really feels like someone had some ideas but not enough time or money. Some aspects of the combat are really weak, and you don't have to use them at all. The idea is ok but the execution is not. You will battle these weird creatures named Slitterheads and the problem is that most of them look similar and most of the fights are very similar with little change throughout the game. The PC optimization is crap. It is UE again, and the developers made a bad PC port. In semi open areas the game has macro stutters and micro stutters. Awful stuff and why the developer keep using this crap engine is beyond me. That being said, I think this game is very good, at times even great. It is clear as day what this team's strenghts are, story telling, weird and dark atmospheric tone and sound design and music. I wonder how would this look if they made a horror game with less combat. Missed opportunity, if you ask me. 100 % recommandation but at 60% discount. Rough gem that has soul and it is worth playing.
A blast. DMC meets The Thing meets Chungking Express. I hope reading that gave you a boner.
One of the most unique and memorable 7/10 games I've played. Highly recommend it if you love playing unique games with un-orthodox control schemes and design. Slitterhead is an action brawler that has a lot more going on with it's combat besides button mashing. To be incredibly reductive, this game's combat is like Yakuza + Driver San Francisco. You are heavily incentivized to possess different characters during combat to take on enemies, as they are very aggressive and can block and parry your attacks, similar to God Hand. There is a parry mechanic but it feels far more unique and deep than typical games with them. It utilizes the right analog stick, and you must time a directional push in conjunction with the attack you are going to parry. It feels very clunky.... at first. There is a visual aid for the direction however the actual timing requires you to look at your enemy's animations. There's even customization for the dead-zone of the analog stick just for parrying. It's very rewarding to do and even has a slow-mo witch-time like effect tied to it. The slow-mo, called "Blood-time" in this game, activates after successfully parrying a number of attacks. Once it's activated, it's functionally the same as witch-time from bayonetta, but you can extend the duration by possessing a different character. The time will not extend if you possess someone you already have possessed, but the damage reward is incredible because if you switch characters mid-combo, as each character will continue an onslaught even when not possessed, dealing devastating damage. There is a lot of mechanical detail with this game's combat system and I can definitely say it's quite rewarding to master. The game's story is also very engaging and one of the main reasons I kept excitedly coming back to launch the game. You are a nameless spirit that has the ability to possess people, and one goal in mind, stopping the "slitterheads". Through the course of the game's narrative, key main characters come in, whom when possessed actively retain their memories and conscious, as well as having unique weapons, movesets, and abilities. These characters can be interacted with during intermissions, as the game follows a mission based structure. The story is also one about time-loops, as the same three days are repeated and only the spirit and the key characters, named "rarities", are cognizant of this anomaly. So the game's mystery of the slitterheads, the time-loop, and the protagonists origins and possession abilities slowly get more unfurled as the game continues. It's very unfortunate that the game sits at such a low score critically across the board but I felt this game was a very easy recommendation, especially to those that enjoy the more unique games of the 6th generation, before control schemes and mechanics started to become more standardized and follow specific templates. This game was designed for it's key mechanic and utilizes it in the best possible way the devs could have intended for it to be used, both in gameplay and in story. Please check the game out, I played it on hard mode and it took 19 hours for me to see the game through to the true ending, and unlocking all but one achievement.
It a feels a little bit like a PS2&PS3 japanese game in some aspects. However, I'm playing it on Nightmare and I'm loving it so far.
The concept is pretty cool but the lack of wide screen support is what turns me off. The game looks pretty old for a 2024 game. (Visual wise).
Slitterhead is, without a doubt in my mind, the worst game I've ever played. It is a damn shame I went over the refund period before deciding that. The combat doesn't work and encounters are unbalanced. The writing is terrible and not even voice acted, aside from little grunts and gasps. For a game from such a well-renowned auteur who has put out some of the greatest games of all time, Slitterhead is a 3/10 effort.
Get it on sale if you are interested. This is a game that NEEDS a bigger budget sequel. The concept is great, but the delivery here is really kind've rough.
