I tried for 5 minutes to pick up the first ingot before I gave up. Most of that time was spent watching the sub spin hopelessly out of control. Every time I thought I was close, I rotated the camera only to find out I was nowhere near the item. Trying to control the tiny sub from so far away with almost no frame of reference is practially impossible. At the very least, the game needs a button to re-level the sub. Basically, this game seems to be about learning to control the sub. There are no affordances to help with this, in fact everything seems to be designed to make basic piloting as difficult as possible. If the game had a first person view, or a camera following 3rd person view, it might be playable. Maybe.

The combination of bad controls AND bad camera make this unplayable for me. No way.
Controls were an absolute pain. I had to mash buttons to figure out that 'confirm' was mapped to the 'B' button on my controller. Huh, who uses 'B' for selection? There weren't any controller icons until halfway through the tutorial, so stuff like movement was never explained. Control rebinding is the standard Unity method (aka absolutely terrible) and makes me wish the author had just pulled a controller plugin off the Unity Asset Store. For actual gameplay, you use one set of controls to rotate your ship in 3D and another set to turn the barrel-shaped map clockwise or counterclockwise. That sounds ok on paper, but it's absolutely terrible in practice. Most 3D platformers use a complex system of shadows to help players know where they are and where key items are, but Underwater Adventure can't do this because there isn't any ground. The result is that you'll think you're hitting an item over and over only to flip the camera and realize you're still a good twenty feet away. Well, that's if you can stop ramming into the bounds of the level in the first place. The player ship is so small that you can barely tell which way you're headed and you can cross the screen in two seconds, meaning getting stuck is a likelihood. I like what I see in the promotional material, but the game just feels wrong to play. In addition to some serious quality-of-life improvements, the game probably needs to be less of a '3D adventure'. Maybe just make it 2.5d? Maybe restrict movement to the camera's x-axis and y-axis? I don't know, but getting through the tutorial used up all my good will for this game.
ok...this seems like a fun little game about collecting and such, reminds me of early games on the ps3...but the controls need some work my friends. i tryed both keyboard and controller, but i controling the ship is alot harder than it needs to be. i suggest adding some vertical jets to easily move up or down, and better distinction on perspective of items around you (alot of "why am i not moving?" to then rotate the camera to find a hidden rock) overall, has potiental to be a good game, but i cant recommend it yet :(
It's one of the worst gameplay i have ever tried! It's unplayable !
I couldn't believe my eyes. This game ist over three months old, and only ONE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ review yet? Well, here we go. The atmosphere and the graphics are amazing, no doubt. Only thing I find really annoying is the controls. As far as I can see, this is supposed to be relaxing. When I want to steer the submarine, I need a lot of focus, which is not very relaxing at all. If this game had an alternative controls set , I'm pretty sure it would become a real big thing. As this was made with Unity, it's obviously feasable, please, dear Developers, make an update with different controls! There is so damn much potential in this!
