For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. A neat little stealth-combat open world experience where you must collect $50,000 before the 30 mins are up. I think I enjoyed the overall look and feel of the game, the environment and its structures felt alien and areas has identifying landscape markers to make each feel a little bit different. I was a little disappointed that there were no interior spaces and buildings didn't feel like they had a purpose other than looking computer-mechanical; a little bit of contextual clues would've been appreciated. If you're a fan of Star Wars' art style and the PS1 and PS2 3D graphics aesthetic, this should be a recommend for you.

Under A Star Long Cold takes a simple but compelling idea and turns it into a concentrated stealth-action experience where every minute matters. Developed by Antonio Freyre and published by Merlino Games, the game places the player on a planet with only 30 minutes remaining before its destruction. Your objective is to explore, collect enough valuables to pay your debts, survive the dangers standing in your way, and make the most of the limited time available. Rather than stretching this concept across a lengthy campaign, the game embraces a short-form structure where pressure, experimentation, and repeated attempts form the heart of the experience. The countdown is what gives the game its personality. Thirty minutes sounds generous at first, but it becomes increasingly restrictive once exploration, enemy encounters, and searching for valuable loot begin consuming precious seconds. Every detour becomes a calculated risk. An unexplored location might contain exactly what you need, yet investigating it could leave insufficient time for something more profitable elsewhere. This creates a constant conflict between curiosity and efficiency. The objective is straightforward, but reaching it requires learning how to manage time just as carefully as health, positioning, and combat resources. Stealth is the preferred approach and encourages deliberate movement rather than constant aggression. Players can observe enemy positions, plan routes, approach carefully, and quietly eliminate threats. The slower pace of infiltration contrasts nicely with the ticking clock. You want to be cautious because mistakes are dangerous, yet excessive caution can consume the very resource you cannot recover: time. This creates an enjoyable tension where a perfectly executed stealth encounter may still be strategically inefficient if it takes too long. Combat provides another option when careful planning falls apart. Instead of immediately punishing detection as an automatic failure, the game allows players to abandon subtlety and respond with lasers and direct aggression. This flexibility makes encounters less predictable and allows failed stealth attempts to evolve into desperate firefights. Going loud can save time in the right circumstances, but it also increases the danger substantially. Learning when to sneak, when to eliminate an enemy quietly, and when to simply fight becomes an important part of mastering each attempt. Permadeath adds considerable weight to these decisions. Death can erase the progress of a run, making reckless behavior increasingly frightening as more valuables are collected. The mechanic works particularly well because individual attempts are relatively short. Losing a run can still be frustrating, but the compact format makes starting again far more manageable than it would be in a traditional long campaign. Repeated attempts gradually become exercises in accumulated knowledge. Players learn which areas deserve attention, where unnecessary risks can be avoided, and how to move through the environment more efficiently. The open environment also gives the game a sense of freedom despite the strict time restriction. Its science-fiction setting, third-person perspective, stylized 3D presentation, and pixel-influenced aesthetic give it a distinctive independent-game character. There is an appealing contrast between the freedom to choose where to go and the certainty that the world itself is approaching its end. The premise also carries themes of agency and hope, giving additional meaning to the frantic search for enough wealth to escape an apparently hopeless situation. There are limitations to this tightly focused design. The central gameplay loop can become repetitive for players who expect constant new objectives or a lengthy progression system. Its world and mechanics are intentionally modest compared with large open-world action games, and the timer may frustrate anyone who prefers leisurely exploration. Players interested in examining every corner without pressure may find themselves fighting against the game's fundamental design philosophy. Likewise, permadeath means that an unfortunate mistake late in a successful attempt can feel particularly harsh. On Steam Deck, the game is officially rated Verified. Its functionality is accessible through the default controller configuration, appropriate controller icons are displayed, interface text is considered readable, and the default graphics configuration performs well on the handheld. It also runs successfully through SteamOS. One caveat concerns external Bluetooth or USB controllers, which may require manually selecting the active controller through the Steam Deck's Quick Access Menu. For ordinary handheld play using the Deck's integrated controls, however, its Verified status makes it a suitable portable experience. The short run structure is particularly well matched to handheld sessions. Under A Star Long Cold ultimately succeeds by building several straightforward mechanics around one powerful restriction. Stealth encourages patience, combat provides an aggressive fallback, exploration rewards curiosity, permadeath makes survival meaningful, and the 30-minute deadline ensures none of these systems can be approached without considering time. It is not an enormous game, nor does it need to be. Its appeal comes from refining routes, taking calculated risks, recovering from mistakes, and gradually becoming more efficient with every attempt. Players who appreciate experimental stealth games, compact experiences, science-fiction settings, and meaningful risk-versus-reward decisions should find plenty to enjoy. Rating: 7/10
I can only recommend this game because of the price... Anything above $3 wound not be worth it... Personally, I don't mind the graphics at all, but it's pretty much Lara Croft - Triangle Mountains (if you know what I mean). The main challenge (to collect 50k in 30mins) is really tough or nearly impossible, though, which makes the game a bit frustrating... Also, the area is huge and you have to be quick which beats the purpose of using binoculars and tagging your enemies, which, btw, are completely retarded (otherwise, I guess, it would be really impossible to reach the goal), Moreover, you can't change the controls and they are not so comfortable for this type of game (yet bearable)... Honestly, based on other reviews I expected this game to be way more fun...
Good! Quick and nice looking, feels like a MGS V mission. Controls well and is the right kind of pace for a stealth game, im my opinion
