Holy cow the cut scenes...play for 10 seconds get a 5 min cut scene, play for 30 sec get a cut scene...cut scene, cut scene, cut scene....
The original Outcast is a perfect example of the jank of its time - imperfect controls, obtuse quests, janky interface etc. It is therefore very funny that this second Outcast is a perfect example of the jank of our time - you have done x of y challenges, collected x of y collectibles, done x of y quests. If you have vaguely paid attention to game design over the last decade, you know the score. In another two decades, there will be an Outcast 3, which will also serve as the perfect example of the jank of the future. In the meantime, this is a perfectly acceptable romp and a welcome return to Adelpha. And a perfect oppostunity to tell my friends why I have consistently said yods instead of gods for all this time.
[b] Outcast: A New Beginning is a sci-fi open-world adventure with a beautiful world and fun jetpack traversal. Exploration is easily the game's biggest strength and I really liked the main character's vibe. I also enjoyed the quests focused on the native communities and the interactions between their people, which helped make the world feel more interesting and alive. I also loved the music, it somehow felt familiar and fit the world really well. On the other hand, the combat gets repetitive, enemy variety is limited and I wish there was more variation among the friendly NPCs to make the world feel more alive. Overall, I liked this game more than I expected. P.S.: Remember to save frequently! Some bugs can mess up your save and ruin your experience. P.S.2: In case you mess up like I did, you can use another Daoka Core to activate a different Daoka. I ended up exploring so much that I wandered far away from the Daoka I was originally aiming for. P.S.3: The Gork system had potential but it felt underused. They could have done much more with it. Vale a Pena.
The game mostly hinges on its combat, built around quick shooting and dodging. The jetpack is great, but definitely underwhelming initially. You won't really get to full power until a significant way through the game, which makes the combat feel a little worse up to that point. Once you're chain dodging, gliding, and floating the gameplay improves a lot. The open world is ok, mostly checklist-simulator repetitive tasks and challenges. As long as you're good with that, it's worth a play on sale. $20 or less seems fair for the amount of gameplay. Nothing mind blowing but was worth playing and kept me coming back to finish it.
What a great positive surprise this game was. Great world design and fun gameplay (especially after you unlock all your abilities along the way). The game has a lot of humour in it as well. I would advise everyone who comes for the story and dialogue to exhaust all options. Even if there is a lot of it. I would say it helps if you are from my generation (gen-x/y) to get the massive amount of jokes and references the game has, even with the achievements names. Our hero also has a classic 80s-90s action hero name: Cutter Slade XD The game somehow felt refreshingly different from your standard open world game these days, for me anyway. And even if it does have repetitive content it never felt like it was too much. Managed to 100% it in 40 hours without rushing anything, so we are not talking AC levels. There is still a lot to do and a decent amount of variation to it. Give it a go and play it for at least 4-5 hours. It will slowly drag you in with it's quirky charm and not let go untill you are done :)
Игра прикольная рекомендую
Rocketeer video game, what's not to like?
