About
Ultra Mega Cats is a fast-paced roguelike cooperative third-person shooter. In it, you control one of the Mega Cats, armed to the fangs with the goal of escaping corporate captivity while battling hordes of enemies. Fight through a series of randomly selected rooms and perform feats of dexterity and skill in an extremely dynamic environment – solo or with friends.
Imagine living in a world flipped upside down, where rodents and feathered forces rule and cats are shunned. You're one of the last cats standing – disgraced, brainwashed, and trained to serve your former prey as their personal killing machine. But that is not enough, as the cat’s soul knows no master! Awaken your inner predator and restore balance to this world!
While your rage-fuelled instinct and millenia of evolutionary experience may make you think that pouncing with claws and fangs at your enemies will get the job done, well, things have changed drastically, and your enemies have caught on. You’ll need to make good use of your skills, especially against the likes of bomb-carrying hamsters.
Utilize a wide range of abilities and playstyles to survive the onslaught of enemies in your way.
As you move throughout the world with cat-like agility, you’re able to tailor your experience to your liking. Choose your favorite Mega Cat, personalize your loadout, and discover thousands of build possibilities, allowing you to play however you want.
At your disposal: Choose from five different ultra cats (two at Early Access launch) with different play styles and personalities. Each cat has 50 different M.O.D.s that can be unlocked, offering more variety.
Friends fur-ever: Streamlined, arena-based co-op PvE combat for up to three players in Early Access.
Gods of the Arena: Each arena is arranged into ever-changing biomes through level generation. Thanks to different Coalitions (each consisting of different Aspects), no two playthroughs are the same.
It’s purrdy: The game’s stunning, vibrant art style packs as much of a punch as your cat hero will, ka-pow!
Who wants to live in a world ruled by mice anyway?: Work together to free the three Ancient Cats from their enslavement, defeat your rodent and bird enemies and create a new cattopia for felines everywhere.

funny shooter....back for more experience soon
Lots of fun and under rated. Would like more content.
Ultra Mega Cats, developed by Fallen Leaf, Unseen Silence, and Black Drakkar Games and published by Fallen Leaf, is a high-energy cooperative roguelite shooter that thrives on speed, synergy, and controlled chaos. It builds its identity around fast arena-based combat and character-driven playstyles, delivering an experience that feels immediately engaging but still evolving as it continues to take shape. While it clearly draws from familiar roguelite foundations, it distinguishes itself through its cooperative focus and playful, exaggerated tone. The core structure revolves around repeated combat runs where players select from a roster of feline characters, each equipped with unique abilities and traits that significantly influence gameplay. These characters are not merely cosmetic variations—they fundamentally change how players approach each run. Some emphasize aggressive damage output, others favor mobility or defensive tactics, and this variety encourages experimentation. As players progress through a run, they acquire upgrades and modifiers that shape their build, often leading to powerful combinations that can dramatically alter the flow of combat. This system provides a satisfying sense of progression within each session, even if the long-term depth remains somewhat limited. Combat is the centerpiece of the experience, delivering a constant stream of action that rarely slows down. Players must navigate confined arenas filled with enemies, balancing offense with evasive movement to survive increasingly intense waves. The game rewards quick reactions and spatial awareness, as positioning often determines whether a player can maintain control or become overwhelmed. At its best, the gameplay creates moments of fluid intensity, where well-timed abilities and coordinated movement allow players to carve through enemies in bursts of momentum. However, the sheer volume of action can sometimes lead to visual clutter, making it difficult to track everything happening on screen. Cooperative play is where Ultra Mega Cats truly shines. Designed with multiplayer in mind, the game becomes far more dynamic when played with others. Teamwork allows players to combine abilities, cover each other’s weaknesses, and manage enemy waves more effectively. This collaborative element adds depth to the gameplay, as success often depends on how well players coordinate their roles and adapt to evolving situations. Solo play remains viable, but it lacks the same sense of synergy and can feel more demanding, particularly during more challenging encounters. Visually, the game embraces a vibrant and stylized aesthetic that complements its energetic gameplay. Character designs are expressive and distinct, leaning into a playful interpretation of its feline theme. Environments and enemies are colorful and varied enough to maintain visual interest, though the overall presentation occasionally lacks the refinement needed to fully support the intensity of combat. Effects and animations are functional, but there are moments where stronger visual feedback would enhance the impact of actions and abilities. As an evolving title, the game’s current state reflects both its strengths and its limitations. Content is relatively limited, with a modest selection of characters, environments, and progression systems. While the core gameplay loop is engaging, it can begin to feel repetitive over extended sessions due to the lack of significant variation. Technical roughness and balancing inconsistencies are also present, occasionally disrupting the flow of gameplay. These issues do not overshadow the experience entirely, but they highlight the need for further refinement. Despite these shortcomings, Ultra Mega Cats demonstrates a strong foundation. Its emphasis on cooperative play, fast-paced combat, and build experimentation gives it a clear identity within the roguelite genre. It may not yet offer the depth or polish of more established titles, but it delivers enough energy and variety to remain engaging, particularly when played with others. In the end, Ultra Mega Cats is a promising and entertaining roguelite that excels in short bursts of chaotic action. It offers a satisfying blend of movement, combat, and teamwork, even if its current scope limits its long-term appeal. With continued development and expansion, it has the potential to grow into a more fully realized experience, but even in its present form, it provides a lively and enjoyable ride for players willing to embrace its fast-paced design. Rating: 7/10
Catfun game with potencial to be a nice hero-survival-arena shooter with co-op. Worth to give a chance.
Buggy
Do I think this will bring me 100s of hours of fun? Nope. Am I sure it will go into 1.0? Narh. But it got BB Kat, which give me Citron (garden warfare) vibes, is playable offline, and P2P coop. So if it fails, I still got it. Would I like more bioms, a survivor or horde mode, more cats (maybe a dog that is dressed like a cat?), and that you can play the same character (tank meta ftw)? Yes. But there is no perfect game, just a perfect good time. And I intent to give it another try, for 7,19€ is a steal.
