[後半に日本語レビューあり]
A 3D Co-op Survivors-like Roguelite TPS
Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland devastated by the "Harvest Festival" explosion, this is a third-person cooperative roguelite shooter. Supporting up to four players in online co-op, each run — called a "Picnic" — has players mowing down monster hordes while building out their loadouts. The standout feature is how the game translates wave-survival gameplay into a fully 3D space. The "Impulse Gear" system — swinging, dashing, and double-jumping — mitigates the flat monotony that traditional Survivors-like games tend to suffer from. Raining fire from high ground, dodging off cliffs, and launching from ramps all feel great, giving the verticality of each arena real purpose (personally, I also felt echoes of Risk of Rain 2's vertical tension). At the heart of buildcrafting lies the "Curio" system. Players equip up to eight passive abilities gained on level-up during a run, and maxing specific Curio combinations can trigger powerful "Evolutions." "Cursed Curios" add a gambling element with random positive and negative stat modifiers, and the experimentation across runs gives each Picnic a distinct identity. The colorful anime-styled visuals are appealing, though some Early Access roughness remains. Level-up rewards can feel incremental — small percentage boosts that don't always deliver that satisfying power spike. The development team's community-driven approach through Discord is notable, with consistent major updates including full balance overhauls being delivered regularly. For players seeking the thrill of Survivors-like gameplay with 3D verticality and cooperative fun, this is arguably an Early Access title worth watching as it continues to evolve. HHF-chan's comment: "Zipping around with the Gear and blasting enemies is way too fun — I get totally absorbed! ...And then the motion sickness hits... blehhh"
Check out our Steam curator (link) , YouTube channel (link), and X(Twitter) (link)!
Atomic Picnic just feels great to play—smooth action, strong vibes, and that “one more run” pull done right.
If you like risk or rain 2 its kind like that
Early Access 10/01/2026 The game is a lot better then before and is a lot of fun, I like the fast reload idea but I use the weapon mod that makes reload automatically make it a fast reload because my brain can't process everything that happens and do the reload. There are some things I would like to see changed or improved: [olist] [*]First and foremost stability/optimization, I'm running a beastly PC but after a couple picnics the game will lose most sound effects followed by a couple stutters and then freeze, my 5090 GPU audibly revs up just as the in-game sounds stop working. [*]Events: Hijinks where you have to heal should be changed, having to take damage to get the reward is annoying. [*]The event where you choose a stat to get in exchange for a debuff for 30 seconds is either too high a risk or worthless, early 10% is good, but -90% movementspeed or the one that reduces your defence and max HP are too harsh early for just 10%, but lategame when you have all the damage in the world "10%" is worthless in comparison to other events or just getting another level. [*]When you defeat the picnic boss I would like it if you automatically absorbed all the crystals on the map, the boss exploding all your rewards over a big area near ledges can mean you miss out on a chunk of money, also it could be a cool spectacle. [/olist] Sidenote: why are we getting chests and not picnic baskets?
Been playing since the start and all I can say it's worth it. The progress and playstyle is smooth and well made! The music is awesome made and it makes you want to play more and more. And it will only get better with time!
Was good, many updates later they broke/ruined everything fun. No idea what that was about. never seen a game get WORSE over time as much as this.
this game has a LOT of potential, it so fun just dashing around the map and shooting enemies left and right, it's fast paced, you DEFINITELY will be punished for not constantly moving, the bosses are cool, the upgrades are insane however, it kind of gets too easy too soon, after finishing the 2nd stage, the game give you a lot of currency to upgrade your character, once you do, every level forwards kind of felt like breeze, and INISIDE the level, picking the right upgrades just instantly makes you untouchable, the bosses got defeated in less than 30 seconds, and it just feels kind of boring after a short time when you can just one-shot pretty much everything.. with an assault rifles. overall, it's a 7/10 if the devs can improve the difficulty scaling and nerf some upgrades, it would be a really good game. p.s : i think a visual clusterfook is normal in roguelike games as it tends to just spawn millions of enemies at once, but sometimes it gets too flashy it hurts my damn eyes!
The artstyle is beautiful. Jumping, grappling, dashing around, and shooting feels very satisfying. The upgrades are fun. Everything is exactly what I'm looking for. But the reloading mechanic is super annoying. Can't stand it.
Visual clutter, dash is too far/twitchy, mouse (over)sensitivity can probably be adjusted, but the biggest issue are the upgrades that happen way too often: with frequent killings it's more reading than shooting. Still recommend, cuz it's not all bad.
Really fun game overall! I am charmed by the aesthetics and style of this game. The gameplay is also very fast-paced and chaotic, which is quite fun in horde shooters. The progression is alright, there are weapon and character options to unlock which keep the gameplay fresh for a while. Also the "memento" upgrade system is better than a regular leveling system in my opinion, as it lets you customize your playstyle far more. Right now there isn't a ton of map or enemy variety. That's just what you get from early access, but the devs do seem to be passionate and dedicated to the game, and I expect it to evolve quite a bit in the future. Wishing the devs all the success in the world! This game is really cool, and I wish them the best.
