About

Hello Goodboy is a heartwarming, wholesome adventure featuring Iko, a boy new to the afterlife. With no memory of what brought him to the world beyond, he must rely on Coco, a strangely familiar dog who will help him solve the mysteries of this new existence.
Journey through unknown, yet familiar places, meeting fellow souls on their own adventures through the afterlife. Pay it forward with generous favors for them and try to figure out just why Iko landed in the land beyond to begin with. However, mind the time: there's only so much of it!

Craft a personal fairy tale atmosphere and a heartwarming story, as Iko and Coco make their way through the afterlife.
Unravel mysteries and collect bundles of joy
Give endless bellyrubs to Coco along the way!

Befriend the dozens of denizens in the afterlife like a lonely child, an anxious couple, an overworked lumberjack, and more.
Everyone has a story to tell and a task Iko can help with.
After you help them through their problems, break out the comfort food and relax together.

But you only have so much time. Decide who you spend time with, as visiting some will prevent you from making relationships with others, and discover how your choices will affect Iko's story through multiple endings.

Coco is the closest friend in the afterlife anyone could ask for - also the best of boys!
His nose combined with Iko's fixing skills will be key to discovering the metaphysical mysteries found around the world beyond.
Pamper him with bellyrubs and playing with toys to keep his “Goodboy-o-meter” fulfilled.

"Hello Goodboy" is a unique, cozy game, with its narrative, simple gameplay, and especially its art style, world design, characters, and more. It also possesses a minor talent in artistic aspects, art, and drawing techniques. In my personal opinion, every scene, character development, emotional state, scenery, and world presented are truly intentional and crafted with the utmost sincerity. Rolling Glory Jam is an Indonesian developer, and we have high expectations for their narrative and art, which are their strengths. Of course, we're also looking forward to releases from other developers in 2026, including Act of Bloods, Dreadout 3, Agni: Village of Calamity, Project: Jurit, and ANDALAS. 💯
PROS: + cute art style + nice soundtrack + great on the Steam Deck CONS: - choices do not matter - gameplay does not matter - simplistic lengthy conversations - useless inventory Comment: A warning right before the main menu gave me an uneasy feeling, followed by another suspicious quote when starting the game. I was thinking this game would make some hard choices. Buuuut... that didn't happen. Over the story there are four doors to choose from and each one contains two paths. The theme is that your time is limited and you cannot do everything. Only a couple things each playthrough. Gameplay itself is super limited to a couple of mini games and one fight. More walking around and talking than anything else. If you do end up playing I recommend going to the settings and putting 'Text speed' to 'Instant'. It does not fully negate the weird conversation flow but at least it negates it a slight bit. Developer also let's you skip the intro or the seasonal quests, if finished at least once. But do not use it if you want the achievement 'Good Boy Gone Bad' as it auto-completes all the fix chores too. The food eating I found super annoying, it takes so much time but does not add anything but to add the game time. I finished it five times to get all the achievements (can be done in four) and I realize I am going again the majority here. But apart from maybe the first playthrough, which left me at least wondering what else is there, I did not enjoy the game. It is super repetitive, the conversation flow is cumbersome and awkward. Very simple dialogue, almost feels like the translation to English is too literal because it flows weirdly. I thought for a bit that I might not be the right audience. So then for one playthrough I had my son with me and he also got bored by the tedious conversations and food eating. And my BIGGEST issue with the game - nothing you do matters. All characters will be okay in some way, if you choose wrong you are reprimanded to choose right. You are told by text how your character feels and thinks. And the final confrontation, the biggest gameplay part of the whole game, is a sham that has the exact same result whatever you do. It might be for kids but even kids should be shown that what they choose matters in some way. That there maybe is a different or even bad resolution sometimes. This game had so much potential but got lost in all the feelgood stuff. It's message of loss forgets the other important things of (real) sorrow, sadness, grief and CHOICE. Sorry to everyone who does end up connecting with it but I myself cannot recommend it... ------------------------------------------------------------------ If you liked this review you can find more on the Curator page or in my Review Corner.
If you play it one time only, it is a good game. If you play it two times, which will give you the "true ending", it will still be good. Adorable artstyle and one of the most amazing soundtracks I've ever heard in a game. The story is very meh, especially in the way it's told, not just by what is told, but cute moments like when you get to give bellyrubs to the dog, or when the dog takes all these typical dog poses can compensate for it. But with the achievements is where they completely lost me. Making you play through the game at least 4.5 times to get everything. And you have to press spacebar to confirm EVERY. DAMN. SINGLE. LINE. OF. THE. DIALOGUE. And you have to wait out all the mandatory pauses. And order your character to eat every painstakingly slow bite of every food and confirm the dialogue inbetween each bite. Not giving us a button to jump to the parts where we make a decision. I think this might have given me tendonitis. That was an EXTREMELY poor design choice. So much that I don't wanna play this game anymore. Ever. I will still leave a recommendation EXCLUSIVELY due to the visuals and audio. If either of those two were even slightly less good, this would have been a thumbsdown.
muito fofinho, porém para platinar é cansativo já que você tem que jogar 5 vezes.
Hello Goodboy is an incredibly charming indie game that blends quirky humor with heartfelt moments. The story, centered around a dog navigating a colorful, whimsical world, is both delightful and surprisingly touching. With its simple yet engaging mechanics and vibrant art style, it’s a joy for all ages. Whether you're a dog lover or just looking for a feel-good experience, Hello Goodboy is sure to bring a smile to your face.
11/10, A++, absolutely wonderful! A really great narrative on grief that helped me personally grieve.
Good Deeds.

To be honest, there’s not much going on with the gameplay. I get why some people didn’t like it, mostly just pressing a button or the spacebar. Hello Goodboy feels more like a children’s storybook come to life, which actually makes it great for playing with kids or just chilling on your own. The pacing is slow, the story is pretty straightforward, but I still enjoyed it. It’s the kind of game you can play while lying down and taking it easy. But I can't say this game is a 'yes' or 'no' for you, it really depends on what you’re looking for. The story follows Iiko and his yellow dog, Coco, on a wholesome journey where they meet different souls, each with their own story and something they need help with. You can’t help everyone in one playthrough because there’s a time limit, so your choices matter. Finish it once and you get a good ending—play it again in New Game+ to unlock the true ending. Shoutout to Mrs. Hen and Mr. Goose. Absolute legends. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3506887159 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3508424169

Hello Goodboy has cute graphics and okayish story. The biggest problem is that it's boring and tedious. The tediousness of the game comes from having to play the game multiple times to get all achievements, I detest games like that, especially when no significant additional content is provided, so it's an automatic not recommended
Pros: Beautiful game that really makes you think about life and death Plot seems to be for children but lots of little insides for adults. Provides a different cultural food and explains it in every single season/plot in the game. Makes you fall in love and help multiple characters Minigames are fun. Can pet the dog. Cons: Can’t skip ahead in the game in a lot of it and you have to play the game a minimum of 5 times to get all achievements A lot more dialogue than actual gameplay, and some people find it ‘preachy’ at times - like how important it is to be a good boy Finished? Yes Steam Achievements? Will have to do 3 runs. Steam Deck? Great Rating? 7.5/10 My curator page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45865425-CozyAriGames/ Full videos on Youtube.
