I'm only twenty minutes in, but I feel I have enough of a n idea of the strengths and weaknesses to write a review. For starts, yes, it is very much a tower defense game. A lot of games get that label erroneously so I felt the need to start with that. First the good things. Visually very solid, Lots of interesting looking monsters, in an eye catching sci-fi like world. animation is excellent, all of the sounds are good, atmospheric without getting irritating and it all seems to work. Now the downsides. The entire thing is darn near info free. Monsters have no health bars, no descriptions and no fluff to explain what is going on. A cardinal sin in my book, as it requires little to no effort. There is no way to speed things up, and while there is some pathing, so far it is insignificant. There are no tactical options, and there are no tech trees or anything of a strategic nature either. There appear to be nine towers, and so far it is a straight three levels up with no options of any kind. So yeah, a pretty tepid thumbs up, but it all works, and I can't complain, it is a bare bones, less than interesting Tower Defense game, and I intend to go back and play some more. If there were more decent TD games on the market I might say otherwise, but sadly it is a genre that doesn't seem to get the attention I think it deserves. ADDENDUM: It was fun, but I really only got about eight hours of fun before I was done. Shame, with a bit of work, this could have been really good. The visuals are great.
A shame there isn't a neutral option on the review, but as things stand it is hard to give this an overall positive. Frustrating because with some further development this could have been good. As it stands this is a very trimmed down copy of defence grid, with limited levels, no orbital skill, no story and only 2 difficulty levels to maps. No alternate game modes. It has a decent mix of towers, and the maps are ok, but everything about the game feels like the bare minimum basics. In just a few hours you will have seen everything this has to offer, and you wont go back to it. If you have not done so already, buy Defence grid instead (or Sol survivor). If you really must scratch the tower defence itch and have played everything else then this might pass a couple of hours but only buy at a steep discount.
Good graphics and use of lighting. Game play is also pretty good, Room for expansion, hopefully, for future growth. Entertaining, decent TD game. Wish there was some (any) input from the devs.
is like Defense Grid & Defense Technica. Nice game, Nice price. It needs a lot of adds, like enemy life bar, enemy root, tower control option. needs a lot. I think is a good game and is good to support it. I do not like unity. Runs on DX11 at 4K, lock at 60Hz and my RadeonVII, is more hot and make more noise than Doom or BF1!!!!
Probably the most fun tower defense game I have played. There are levels with varying complexity that require various strategies. My only complaint would be that I would like to see more levels. I would even be willing to pay more money for DLC to get more levels, it was so fun.
Some people say that its a terrible game. well yes and no. the game is great at itself and some people do not want to have a extreme way of doing things. This game offers a normal and hard difficulty currently i try all the levels on normal and i need to get the hang of it. its a learn process. Yes it does have audio issues i cannot deny that it really needs a single voice or notifications instead of all kinds of voice things like countdown in woman voice that sounds good then when u do not have power the ears pop of my head. its true. However the game itself is good it needs work but its good. some people say making the maze for the enemy's is not there well it is for sure. when placing towers you need to think forward by pathing out the enemy's i really like that aspect. So the pros en cons: Pros: a real tower defense game not just a mimic with a solid path Different classes of enemy's not that every tower targets all. maze pathing the enemy's adjust their path to what you build. Cons: Audio really needs work i recommend people to lower the volume in windows not ingame. The enemy's do not have any indication of a health bar so you never know how much life it has got left. Targetting options does not exist here. so place the towers carefully. Now for the dev here are my suggestions: First make the audio better make it streamlined so that every sound is the same theme and same volume (voices) and the effects are cool but if you have many of them it sounds horrible. Secondly Add enemy health indicators and info when you click them so we can see what type it is how much armor/health left speed and abilities or info Thirt. to make this game better mabe a idea of a simple square map editor would come to mind with steam workshop intergration. this way we can make our maps extend the game that way the current features are limited to the game's bounds and can easily be expanded. fourth make targetting options for the towers. shoot at the strongest or weakest. shoot at the first or last in range. those are common and best to use the towers in their fullest.
