Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'm a huge fan of this game. I love seeing how different choices change different aspects of the game per playthrough. And even when I tried a 'truly evil' run, I still couldn't bring myself to kill a baby. 10/10 for gameplay, story, and just overall entertainment.
Combat here is bad, really really bad. It's hard to understand what's happening, to control your characters, they often got stuck doing nothing and don't follow your commands (even with party AI turned off)... It's not an issue with real-time-with-pause, I have thousand of hours in the old Infinity engine games, also played 100 hours of Pillars of Eternity and didn't remember combat being so awkward. I know combat is not the focus in this game, and I liked the story and writing, so I truly tried to like this game. But I play isometric RPGs because the strategy and mechanics are important to me. If your main focus is story, lower difficulty to the minimum to finish combats quickly, because they are just not fun, and give it a try. If your are more like me, look elsewhere.

tyranny to prawdziwie wyjątkowy izometryczny rpg, w którym zaczynamy z grubej rury jako zbrodniarz wojenny, a kończymy jako zbrodniarz wojenny
I'm Kyros' top guy! What am I going to do?! Kyros chose me to unite the Tiers? Okay, I'll do it - I'm going to bat for you, Kyros! Tyranny is great. Well, the game, not the notion of living in North Korea. An RPG that actually recognises roleplaying as its strength. The world is very reactive, the writing is solid and it doesn't drag on for hundreds of hours like its bigger cousins. The combat feels like a more polished version of Pillars 1, but ultimately it'll be a very similar game mechanically. Tyranny does world-building pretty well, concisely, and lets you shape its world to an impressive degree. It's unfortunately a lone title with no follow-up, in the form of sequel, spin-off or any other kind of '-uel', but it provides solid endings to the arc of a rising Fatebinder. The big standout feature of the game? You play as the villain - you can rebel, you can be a diligent lackey, a zealot or rival warlord to the overlord supreme; but ultimately you are no hero - at best, a conqueror with a few qualities. It's written in a way that avoids the usual pitfalls of the genre: the skill-locked choices aren't always the best (or even a good, nor tolerated) outcome, you won't always have a spotlight shun on what each choice does and all its consequences - the game expects you to pay attention, to understand its world and will consistently reward the player for doing so. And will most assuredly, punish if not. So, if you like Baldur's Gate clones (ala Pillars 1 & 2), and you wished they were more compact and had better villain paths - this is the easiest recommend in the genre.
Another example of Steam needing a mid review option. I'd only recommend this game to someone looking for a CRPG with a dedicated evil path. The gameplay is too janky and the whole thing feels kind of unfinished. Combat is atrocious, even for RTwP which is crappy in the first place. The story is interesting but the dialogue can be really inconsistent. The companions are kind of annoying. It's the lore and backstory that makes the game interesting IMO it's just too bogged down everywhere else.
Mechanically, the game functions in a very similar fashion to the classics and their successors. I more or less felt I was playing another Pillars of Eternity game based on how the controls work, which makes sense because it was made by the same people who made Pillars of Eternity, many of whom were also involved in the classic Baldur's Gate series and Planescape: Torment. Having said that, it's the tone, visuals and story that sets this one apart from most offerings in the genre. The first part of the game's story reminded me a lot of the early novels in Glen Cook's Black Company series, that's about a mercenary company working for an almost god-like sorcerer figure who is on a campaign to conquer the world and magically enslaved most of the heroes or villains that stood in opposition, turning them into powerful minions known as The Taken and who mostly hate and scheme against each other and their master. So in this game you play as the Fatebinder, a disciple of one of the Overlord Kyros' main followers, known as Archons, and you are tasked with overseeing the conquest of the last remaining free territories after a 400 year long war, and mediating between the two Archons leading their separate army who happen to hate each other and refuse to cooperate. So you're basically trying to get two of The Taken to stop squabbling and do the job The Lady expects them to do, and to make the parallels to the Black Company series even clearer, Kyros is not only a godlike magic user but is also rumored to be a woman just like The Lady. So now you have the choice to become an agent of Kyros' will and subjugate the population with a merciless iron fist, or try to limit needless bloodshed during your conquest and proceed to attempt to rule justly within the framework of the tyrant's empire, or even end up allying yourself with the locals or betraying Kyros and trying to gain power for yourself. Thus, you have to navigate alliances with different factions represented by the Archons and the local interest groups, many of whom are plotting against some or all of the others, including your boss Archon, and even against Kyros herself. Who will you side with? Will you betray Kyros too? To what end? My only criticism is that it's much shorter than most similar CRPG's and it seems to lose steam at the end, and the game feels like it ends somewhat abruptly because the final chapter(s) don't have as much content and the story kind of grinds to a halt to resolve the main plot while setting up a possible sequel that never came. I did, however, enjoy that I managed to beat the game by avoiding most of the final boss fights simply by talking to them and using what I'd done so far in the game and my Lore skill to basically argue that I was right and they shouldn't fight me, and I even got most of them to actually agree with me and join me. I don't think I'd done anything similar to that in a CRPG since way back in the day when I played Planescape: Torment. All in all, a really interesting and refreshing take on this kind of game.

Not quite what I expected, short (22hours to complete) and quite linear. I was looking forward to reigning supreme after my admittedly 'good' play-through but then the game just ends. You could play through again making different choices, 'evil' ones but what's the point!? Missed opportunity. 6.5/10
