🎮 Streets of Rage 4 — Steam Review
🔥 “I Bought This Game To Relax. Now I Fight Furniture Professionally.” Ladies and gentlemen… I downloaded this game thinking: “Ah yes, nostalgic childhood fun. Peaceful retro vibes.” WRONG. This game didn’t bring back my childhood. It brought back childhood TRAUMA. 🥊 The Plot (Basically) City bad. Crime everywhere. Police useless. So government solution is:
Send one shirtless guy and his gym friends to solve society.
No investigation. No paperwork. Just uppercut democracy. 👊 Combat System — Violence With PhD Degree Gameplay is simple: Walk right → punch people → eat chicken from trash can → repeat. But somehow… it becomes NASA-level strategy. You press one wrong button? Enemy combo you like unpaid intern. You blink? Dead. You breathe? Boss grabs you like Malaysian aunty grabbing last discount chicken. The combat is actually deep — combos, juggles, risk-reward specials that cost health but can be recovered if you keep attacking without getting hit. Translation:Game rewards skill. Also rewards emotional suffering. 😡 Enemies Have Personal Vendetta Against You Every enemy in this game wakes up and chooses violence. You see random man wearing tank top. You think: “Okay normal NPC.” NO. This uncle suddenly: + backflips + throws knife + teleports emotionally + deletes your health bar WHO TRAINED THESE PEOPLE?? Why street criminals fighting like esports finalists?? 🎨 Graphics So Beautiful I Forgive My Pain The art style looks amazing — hand-drawn, colorful, stylish. Critics literally praised how stunning and smooth the game looks and plays. Meanwhile me appreciating art while getting punched:
“Wow… beautiful animation… while I’m dying.”
Even the background NPCs judging you. They stand there watching like: “Skill issue bro.” 🎵 Music Slaps Harder Than Asian Parents Soundtrack goes CRAZY. You start level feeling cool. Five minutes later you sweating like exam hall. Music makes you believe you’re strong. Game immediately proves you are not. 😭 Difficulty Curve = Emotional Rollercoaster Early game: “Eh easy lah.” Mid game: “Okay serious already.” Final levels: “I understand now why villains exist.” Reddit players literally complain the game is insanely difficult compared to expectations. One wrong move and suddenly five enemies juggling you like badminton shuttlecock. 🧍 Multiplayer = Friendship Destroyer You invite friend to co-op. You think bonding experience. No. Now relationship test. Friend eats health item you needed. You stare at screen silently. Trust broken forever. 🧠 Replayability Is Illegal Campaign short? Yes. But you replay anyway because: - unlock characters - chase better ranks - prove you’re not bad at game (you are) Critics even say the campaign can be finished quickly — but combat keeps pulling you back like toxic ex. 💀 What This Game Really Feels Like This is not beat-’em-up. This is: - anger management simulator - reflex exam - cardio workout for thumbs You start casually. Next thing you yelling at monitor: “WHY HE STILL STANDING?? I HIT HIM 47 TIMES!” 🎤 Final Verdict (Audience Applause, One Guy Crying) Pros: ✅ Combat smooth like butter ✅ Music absolute banger ✅ Gorgeous art ✅ Pure arcade chaos Cons: ❌ Enemies hate you personally ❌ Short story ❌ Ego destroyed permanently ⭐ Score: 9/10 — Best way to experience nostalgia and humiliation at the same time. I came for retro fun. I left trained for street survival. Eh boss, listen first ah. I download this game because nostalgia okay. Last time young young play arcade, one token can feel like hero. Now adult already, got stress, got bills, got boss email Sunday night. So I think: “Play little retro game relax lah.” RELAX YOUR HEAD.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Terms of service changed - now instead of a game purchase you get a license the company can revoke at any time - which they make you agree to after game purchase. In this case years after game purchase - the developer is now on my trash list and sadly many others are joining them. Steam is also to blame for the developers actions.
거슬러 올라가 예를 들면 팔콤의 'YS1'의 'First step towards wars', 'YS2'의 'To make the end of battle'같은 명곡도 이 사람이 작곡했죠.)
honestly it drives me crazy how every game now wants to be 100 hours long with a million side quests. sometimes u just wanna sit down after a long day and actually beat a level without looking at a map 50 times. its not just nostalgia man, that simplerity is just better pacing and we seriously need more devs going back to basics.
Not a fan of this one, the combat itself is solid, Maybe better than even, some moves feel weak despite covering the entire screen. Almost everything else from meh to garbage. So whats the problem. Two words, super armor, why do enemies and bosses have super armor? you hit them they Ignore it and punch you back, it is so annoying, and is everywhere. There was never any need for it in the older games, why the hell is it here? The musik is horrible, the one that you hear in the trailer is the only one that sounds like Streets of rage thats it, and then there are the retro tracks........Why is the final boss track the first boss track in this game, and the retro boss track the entirety of the second stage?? Who is the sub-human that thought it was a great idea, and WHY the hell did they remove the stage compleate track that is a staple in all the games? Did they think you could do better??? Surprise! its ♥♥♥♥♥! The sound effects are meh, I remember when you picked up the pipe in the older games, The sound was as if the enemy is kissing the express train when you hit them, while here.....not so much, more like a wet towl. Also the complete lack of inovation. I have played all streets of rage, its a 30years old series, They could not be botherd to innovate with more weapons, different stages, and set pieces?! This is the best they got after 30 years??! Pathetic! There is a fan game called Streets of rage remake, Now thats some serious care for the series by the fans, not this mediocre game.
Imagine a sequel to a 30 year old game, where they improved all of the mechanics and fixed all the problems of its era, while maintaining it's spirit and legacy. This is the peak of side scrolling brawlers.
Street of Rage 4 is one of those games that you don’t just finish and uninstall. As of now, I have over 226 hours in the game and have unlocked every achievement. What surprises me the most is not the playtime or the 100% completion, but the fact that I still come back to it and play regularly. When I first started working toward all the achievements, the game definitely tested my patience at times. Some challenges were far more difficult than they seemed at first. However, that is exactly what made earning every achievement feel rewarding. Each one felt earned rather than simply checked off a list. The combat system deserves special praise. Even after hundreds of hours, the gameplay remains engaging. Every character has a unique playstyle, strengths, and weaknesses, which makes each playthrough feel a little different. As you become more familiar with the mechanics, you naturally start pushing yourself further and improving your skills. The soundtrack, visual style, and animations perfectly capture the spirit of the classic Streets of Rage games while still feeling modern. It is a great example of how to bring back a legendary series without losing what made it special in the first place. The biggest compliment I can give this game is simple: even after earning every achievement, I never felt like deleting it and moving on. Normally, once I reach 100% completion, my interest in a game starts to fade. That did not happen here. If you enjoy fast-paced beat ’em ups, a satisfying challenge, and games that reward skill and practice, then Street of Rage 4 is absolutely worth your time.
"CADÊ O TROCO DO PÃO???"
FINAL FIGHT, KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND, CADILLAC DINOSAURS, PUNISHER...
