Overall- its a solid game, its worth the cost. My daughter and I have played 2 games on it, she is 6. She enjoyed herself. I enjoyed it as well. - If you like "party" games, like mario party you will like it. There is several mini games that are challenging and if more get added even better. - Chance and rogue like elements as well and RPG elements are through out the game. It would be nice if there was more char custimization. But for what it is and an pretty new dev/game it is a good game. - You can play it with 4 friend or 2 kids and it is as fun and frustrating for all ages. for under $5- 8/10 would get Kaboom'd again

Turn-Based Champion is a 2D retro pixel PvP local multiplayer JRPG styled collection of competitive garbage minigames of very low quality. There's an attempt to make this look like an RPG but it isn't really. There's a plethora of defects here that have worked very well at keeping gamers away, understandably. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. PC gamers will be insulted by the presence of console peasant children's toy controller prompts, despite this being on PC. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're developing for. Controls can't be customised, either, so this is basically unplayable unless you want to try figure out how the developer mapped the console peasant controller buttons to keyboard. It's not worth it. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the Godot game engine/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset sometimes used by amateur developers as it's free (so they don't have to pay for GameMaker Studio) and doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities (it's arguably worse than GameMaker Studio). Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Turn-Based Champion has an overly optimistic price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.

Turn-Based Champion is an entertaining game that plays like Mario Party with RPG battles in the mix. I watched the developer stream this game's creation, and the amount of effort and attention-to-detail is striking. As far as gameplay goes, it holds a nice, fast pace, and the minigames are exciting and good enough to play multiple times without being repetitive. The price point is good, considering you can take this on a laptop and play couch-coop with plenty of replayability in the form of multiple character classes, levels, and boss amounts. Overall, this is definitely worth grabbing if you want something new to play in a group!

Ya, i would play more of this if i had LOCAL friends. but all my friends are "online" and im sure the game devs will bully me in the patch notes somehow for only having online friends now.

รีวิว Turn-Based Champion เกมทอยลูกเต๋าเดินตามช่องที่ผสมลูกเล่นแบบเกม RPG เข้าไป ในเกมเราจะต้องแข่งกับศัตรูถึง 3 คน ซึ่งจะเล่นกับคอมหรือแข่งกับเพื่อนก็ได้ วิธีเล่นก็จะคือจะมีสนามให้เลือกเล่น ถ้าเราทอยเต๋าได้ตัวเลขไหน ก็จะเดินไปข้างหน้าตามจำนวนเลขนั้น บางช่องจะมีศัตรูให้สู้ บางช่องมีมินิเกมให้เล่น บางช่องมีกับดัก โดนเข้าไปก็กลับจุดเริ่มต้น นอกนั้นเราสามารถเก็บไอเทมเพื่อเสริมความแข็งแกร่งหรือใช้กำจัดคู่แข่งได้ โดยเกมจะจบลงก็ต่อเมื่อเราหรือใครซักคนฆ่าบอสได้สำเร็จ หลังจากนั้นเกมก็จะหาผู้ชนะจากถ้วยรางวัลที่ได้จากมินิเกมและฆ่าบอส ใครได้มากที่สุด คนนั้นเป็นผู้ชนะ ใน 1 เกมใช้เวลาเล่นรอบละ 10-20 นาที เหมาะสำหรับเอามาเล่นกับเพื่อนมากกว่าเล่นคนเดียว น่าจะสนุกกว่าเยอะ
