Drill for oil like it's 1899! Turmoil offers players a visually charming, tongue-in-cheek take on the simulation genre inspired by the 19th century oil rush in North America.

It is a cute little game. Looks nice, sounds nice, plays nice. A little bit shallow, yes, you can deduce the win path in 4-6h, and it doesn't change much later (maybe something drastically new appears in later areas, I haven't gotten that far). I certainly enjoyed playing it, but I can't recommend it because of the issues with saves and the way saves are done in general. The game autosaves on mission exit, and has a single save slot which you can do nothing about. That wouldn't be an issue, was it not for the fact that the game fails to load saves or produce saves properly. Here is an example: I've gotten to the desert and got a diamond (~2h of playtime), exited the game as usual, and went by my business. Next day I return, run the game, continue the campain, and game loads on the old save (3-4 missions before the desert). There is nothing I could do about it, I couldn't even see what it loaded and what else was there. I tried to reload multiple times, but that didn't help. The game was saving on the old save already, so I lost all my progress (not once). Third time it happened to me I lost my faith in this game, and decided to write this review.
The replayability is high, and even thought the multiplayer can get repetitive it's still a fun game to learn with your friends. If you choose to try and get all the achievements, you'll have a real challenge cut out for you, which I found refreshing. I highly recommend the Turn Up The Heat DLC, but the Dig Deeper one left me feeling more overwhelmed then anything else.
Simple gameplay with a lot of room for strategy in multiplayer. You try to out profit your friends and leverage upgrading your operation vs putting money down on blind auctions for stocks. You can play through a game in one active session or submit turns over the course of days with a 48 hour limit. Its just chill.
Very cozy and fun, I keep coming back every couple of months
