A solid premise, destroyed by terrible beat detection. More often than not this flaw makes play next to impossible. If you want a real music game, buy Beat Hazard and never look back.
A sub-par Bejeweled clone that lets you play with your own music. The only way that the music affects the game is that you get bonus points when you do a combo on beat. The algorithm is totally offbeat though so good luck.
This is a really cool puzzle game powered by your music.
Yyyyyyeah, no, it's not great. It's a use-your-own-music game, but it only uses the beat (and depends a lot of your song having a recognisable beat). And the puzzle mechanics are pretty boring. Also, it's really small.
Turba is a puzzle game that try to mix youre music with some match making blocks. But will it succeed ? Turba has to be the worst puzzle game on steam without even trying. The game is a match four block type game. You choose a track and the game mode and thats it. The game doesnt even really explain what youre supposed to do so its up to you to understand what to do. The game is boring and not really worth youre money or time. Overall theres nothing more to say about this game. Turba is one of the worst puzzle games that you can buy on steam for 4 bucks just skip this and get something else. Also the game is barely stable to play. Just Skip this one. Turba gets a 2/10
It is very clunky, but if you get it in a cheap $1 bundle it might be worth enduring. I'm stupid for match 3, so here i am.
All the reviews on the "most helpful" catagory are just people complaining so I'll try to make a review that acutally reviews it. cons: -low resolution -the game expects you to click on the beat of the song for combos, but the game is bad at recognizing where the beat is, so it's pretty random if you get a combo or not -2 of the 3 modes feel stressful and arent' very fun pros: you can play with your own music the 3rd game mode, "ascend" is very fun As you can see, the cons do outweigh the pros, so I wouldn't recommend buying this at full price. But if you see it on sale, (it's only 99 cents right now) that third game mode is well worth the money.
Go play any other music puzzler, because this one just doesn't work in it's own systems. Their beat matching system is a failure and i can't combo through multiplier blocks. Poor presentation and resolution too.
The premise of this game is great, but the execution is poor. The feature that allows you to use music files on your computer is rendered completely ineffective by the game's inability to interpret beats for purposes of the main game mechanic of timing combos. In fact, Turba doesn't even interpret its own beats reliably. Combined with complications introduced by exploding bomb tiles that render the playing field of the game more difficult and the unpredictable placement of tiles, this game goes beyond impressing a sense of difficulty and instead presents itself as broken and untested. In summary, the visual aesthetics and concept are stellar, but this game is not in a state where it is fun to play.
