Unfortunately it's a bit obsolete for modern systems. Text is too small for 4K resolution and sometimes game crashes. Still fun though.
Something about these 2010s city management games hooks me harder than heroin. I played Tropico 4 for 9 hours in my first session, and beat the game on freeplay mode. I will probably do it several more times before I move onto Tropico 5 to do the same thing. Viva El Presidente!

I LOVE THIS GAME!!!
Tropico 4 has been a game I've come back to for years and years, usually just for one map at thats it but I love it every time. Great music, nice visuals despite its age, fun portrait designs and a good sense of humor. There really isn't a game that has the same vibe as Tropico 4 and out of all the iterations I recommend this one the most. Give it a spin if you're looking for a new City sim/builder to play.
Love the Tropico series, but this game suffers from the same thing as most older games; you're stuck running it at 1080p bc the ui shrinks to nothingness at higher resolutions, especially beautiful and crispy 4k. Still the best game in the series and looks way better than the blurry mess that is 5!

I am stuck at the olympics scenario because I issued the pan-caribbean edict earlier than requested and cannot be issued again although the game says it can be reissued after 4 years. I read this is a known bug from the last 11 years but no one ever cared to fix it. I just needed this questo to win the scenario, I won't restart for such a dumb bug and I cannot recommend this game for the same reason. Developers should care for their products and customers, Tropico 4's developers evidently don't so players sholud follow suit in not caring about this game too.
