this game is a surprisingly enjoyable military shooter that delivers an intense campaign from beginning to end. while it may not reinvent the genre, homefront stands out thanks to its engaging atmosphere, emotional setting and the constant feeling that you're fighting against overwhelming odds. from the very first mission, the game throws you into a brutal conflict where every street, neighborhood and ruined city tells the story of a nation struggling to survive under occupation. it creates a grounded and immersive experience that kept me invested throughout the entire campaign. what i enjoyed the most was the pacing. the game wastes very little time before placing you in large-scale battles filled with explosions, collapsing buildings and nonstop action. every mission introduces new situations, from urban firefights and stealth sequences to vehicle sections and massive assaults alongside resistance fighters. despite being a relatively short campaign, it never feels repetitive because there's always something new happening that keeps the momentum going. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3760971186 another aspect that deserves recognition is the atmosphere. the destroyed suburbs, abandoned homes and occupied streets give the world a sense of realism that makes the conflict feel much more personal. instead of simply moving from one battlefield to another, you're constantly reminded that this war has affected ordinary people, making the journey through each location far more impactful than a typical military shooter. the combat is satisfying and responsive, with a solid selection of weapons that all feel powerful in their own way. fighting alongside members of the resistance creates several memorable moments, especially during the larger battles where explosions, helicopters, armored vehicles and heavy firefights all come together at once. while the gameplay remains accessible, it still manages to deliver plenty of exciting encounters that make every mission enjoyable. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3759591099 the campaign also does a great job of building tension. as the resistance grows stronger and the stakes become higher, every objective feels increasingly important. there are several cinematic moments throughout the story that keep the adrenaline high, making it easy to play "just one more mission" until you suddenly realize you're approaching the end of the game. AND I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO GIVE A SPECIAL MENTION TO THE FINAL MISSION. THE ENTIRE LAST OPERATION IS AN INCREDIBLE PAYOFF FOR EVERYTHING THE CAMPAIGN HAS BEEN BUILDING TOWARD. THE ACTION REACHES ITS PEAK, THE SCALE OF THE BATTLE BECOMES MASSIVE, AND THE SENSE OF URGENCY NEVER LETS UP FOR A SINGLE MOMENT. EXPLOSIONS ARE HAPPENING EVERYWHERE, YOUR ALLIES ARE PUSHING FORWARD BESIDE YOU, AND EVERY STEP FEELS LIKE IT COULD DECIDE THE FATE OF THE ENTIRE RESISTANCE. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3760971557 IT'S ONE OF THOSE ENDINGS THAT MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE PART OF A BIG HOLLYWOOD WAR FILM. THE COMBINATION OF CINEMATIC MOMENTS, INTENSE GUNFIGHTS AND THE FINAL PUSH TOWARD VICTORY MAKES THE CLOSING CHAPTER AN ABSOLUTE BLAST TO PLAY. IT WAS EASILY MY FAVORITE PART OF THE ENTIRE GAME AND A FANTASTIC WAY TO END THE ADVENTURE. by the time the credits rolled, i was genuinely satisfied with the experience. homefront delivers exactly what i was looking for: a fun, fast-paced and cinematic military shooter that keeps the action flowing from beginning to end without overstaying its welcome. if you enjoy story-driven FPS campaigns filled with memorable battles, explosive set pieces and nonstop action, this is definitely a game worth playing. i had a great time with it, and it's one of those shooters that's easy to revisit whenever you're in the mood for an exciting action campaign. RATING: 9/10 – AN ACTION-PACKED FPS WITH GREAT ATMOSPHERE, MEMORABLE BATTLES AND AN ABSOLUTELY EPIC FINAL MISSION. 🎖️🔥 #Nocticula #Raven #HarleyQuinn #She'sAwesome #She'sSweet #ThankYouMyDearFriend #ForSharingYourGamesWithMe #ILoveYouuuu 🔥🎮❤️
this game is Red Dawn the video game except it focuses on adult organized resistance. Its a bit older by now (It came out during PS3 era) and some of it is outdated but man is it a good time. Its short but packed. There is a point near the middle where it shifts to near constant action set pieces. It does feel a bit rushed sometimes. There are some serious emotional beats that you experience for 20 seconds and then move on, never to be mentioned for the rest of the game. It was a good way to spend an afternoon on July 4th though, feeling like you are beating back an enemy force feels nice. Anyway, long as you don't mind an older game and have a few hours to spend fighting for 'murica, give it a go
Runs like absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥ - frustrating! I threw a handful of grapes at my uncle!
It tries too hard to be edgy and different, and ends up being cringe and eye-rollingly boring. Took me 4 hours to finish the game on the hardest difficulty WHILE getting all 61 collectibles, that's how short the game is.
Home is where war
The campaign is pretty short but totally worth
Very "eh" game but okay time waster. Back when the multiplayer was active, it was much better. Don't hope for a good story. Get it when you can buy it super cheap.
I played this back on the XBOX 360 when it was first released. I have fond memories of the single player and multiplayer. Played the single player in 2026 and it is rough. I suppose it's because of it's age. Still has some good moments but it's all very scripted. You can't deviate otherwise you are killed. It's a tough one to recommend as the multiplayer is dead. Single player is a 5/10 for spectacle. Some very good moments in the storyline just let down by a lot of jank! If it's cheap, maybe worth a look. I got it for under £1!!!!
