Tropico 4

By far the best in the Tropico series, with it's humor and music that will make you dance in your seat. The gameplay is great, and let's be honest, who doesn't like to be a bad dictator every once in a while. Unlike some of the newer Tropicos, this one has nailed the missions, story, and the general feel of progression. The only negative thing I can say about it are roads, sometimes it's so hard to lay them like you'd like.

По сути, игра является прямым продолжением Tropico 3, используя тот же графический движок и базовую механику, из-за чего многие критики и игроки называют её скорее крупным DLC, чем полноценным сиквелом. Тем не менее, мне эта часть понравилась больше всего. Теперь у каждой внутриигровой фракции (коммунисты, капиталисты и т.д) есть свой лидер, который персонально появляется с требованиями и заданиями. Они кстати, немного запаривают и лавировать между ними порой уже раздражает. Помимо США и СССР появились Европейский Союз, Китай и что-то вроде ОАЭ или Саудовской аравии. Они тоже взаимодействуют с нами и делают разного рода запросы. Появилась система импорта и экспорта. Если остров сгенерирован хреново, то приходится, что-то из ресурсов закупать или наоборот. Очень правильно решение ввести разного рода события, типа восстания, военные мятежи и стихийные бедствия. К сожалению, здесь диджея заменили, но выруливает своими репликами Пенультимо.

The management freedom shines in mid-game highs—bribe revolutionaries, woo superpowers, or pivot from tourism to tyranny on a whim, all with El Prez's customizable mustache and speeches adding RPG-lite personality. Tropicans' quirky needs (vodka riots, anyone?) create lively chaos, and the soundtrack's bossa nova grooves make edicts feel like a rum-soaked power trip. But here's the rub: It grows monotonous after 20 hours. Late-game loops into endless micromanagement—upgrading the same haciendas, quashing the same rebellions—without the narrative depth or mod support to refresh it. No real "win" state beyond Swiss bank swells, and the AI's predictable ploys turn your paradise into a pixelated paperwork simulator. It's fun for a vacation, but lacks the replayable soul of true RPG sagas. Tropico 4 is a cheeky despot sim that charms, then chafes—solid for strategy dabblers, but don't expect endless horizons

Экологи с отношением 0% бьются в конвульсиях, прося повесить вас на мусорке у министерства. В общем, 10 недовольных тропиканцев из 10.

After so many years, this game is still one of the best tropico games. Funny, casual and in many ways based on actual events and people. Some quotes and missions used in a game were real. As someone who was born in socialistic country, spent part of childhood in it, can confirm that some slogans used in game are real. Quotes which appear while game is loading or saving are real, said by actual real people from past. I was surprised to see the quote from Josip Broz Tito which he said to Stalin, years after he refused Stalin's proposal that former Yugoslavia joins SSSR. I will always recommend this game to anyone, especialy with all dlcs and modern times expansion.

I am a late comer to the Tropico games and i brought Tropico 4 & 6 to compare....4 is hands down the best of the two by a country mile. Far more enjoyable and much more political then 6. 6 has better graphics and is more basic, but gets boring quite quickly. Tropico 4 has Better music, better gameplay/settings and you can create and level up a dictator.
