So, I went into this expecting to struggle because I didn't really have many good experiences with Tropico 3 (kinda struggled to do anything in that), but I found out it had God Mode in sandbox. Played the entire timeline with that and, honestly, that actually helped me learn more about the game than the tutorials. It let me experiment, find good mixes for industry (though I did encounter a MAJOR glitch with docks were people and exports got clogged up due to limited road space), it gave me a good handle on things. Jumped into Campaign mode, learned more, and then... Kind of developed a bit of a mean streak towards my Tropicans for being ungrateful when I was trying my hardest to give them a great life. Mean turned to cruel on occasion, shutting down churches when the religious started bad mouthing me, making protests have "accidents" to shut them up, building a dungeon for 2K because last time I tried to be nice building a 25K space needle cost me the win because it trashed my export economy... And honestly, I'm loving this. The frantic management, the hate I have towards people complaining in a land of free food, healthcare, housing and beautiful environments, watching my money swell as I build up an industry of exports (and siphoning cash into my Swiss account in the process), telling the dear Father to shut his trap cos nothing I do will stop his whining, not even diamond cathedrals. I kind of became a dictator. Granted, one that strives for a better Tropico, one that wants his people to be happy and live in a paradise built by their very own El Presidente... But also one who has a firing squad on speed dial. And, boy, do I love it. Edit: I did it. 100% finished. I came here a complete rookie to Tropico and left El Presidente supreme! Yes, I did use underhanded means to get some achievements, but not a single cheat, shortcut or scam was used. I never banned elections, I never treated my people terribly outside of achievement getting, I didn't even have a single rebel during Rebel Yell and only lost twice throughout my entire 60 hours. Take me to Downing Street and I will bring you, my people, the leadership of Tropico! Our hearts are warm, our blood is hot, our victory secured! Viva la Tropico, mi amigos!

Every market we collect.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

might be the best tropico
Tropico
This is one of my favorite games ever. I used to play tropico 3 for Xbox 360 back in the day and couldn’t beat mission 1. But still loved it. Now I can beat the whole game and hours pass by and it feels like minutes. Tropico 4 is like the 3rd one but enhanced in every way, it’s what series should have been.
Feels more free to do what you want.
One of the best Tropico experiences I have had so far.
i love tropico
FUN means FUN
+50
Very fun city-builder that, in my opinion, aged very well. Game mechanics are great, the campaign is interesting and fun to play, and the characters each have their own (stereo-typed) quirks and gags that really fit with my style of humor. There are some shenanigans with the Kalypso launcher that you can circumvent (rather easily, as I managed it and I am bad at these types of things), but do keep that in mind. You might have to do a google to get the game to start.
