One of if not the best movement shooter, amazing and addicting gameplay, brutal difficulty (if desired) and an amazing story that kept me hooked the entire way, the twist made my jaw drop and thats really something special, i love the soundtrack and the voice acting is some of the best ive heard in any game ive played. So taking all that into account, i whould have to say Trepang2 is a 10/10. Break The Cycle.
IF GOD WANTED YOU TO LIVE HE WOULD NOT HAVE CREATED ME
What if the SCP universe and the F.E.A.R. franchise had a baby? This game is the answer. Well, after playing the first demo, my expectations were high for this product, especially about fast combat and gruesome elements, with their harmony with the narrative. Now, having finished the game, I can say that they greatly leaned toward sandbox or fun elements because some content and enemies appear on different difficulties. Trepang2 could have utilized its full potential a bit more to better its story and the length of the campaign. Also, side missions have all the same wave mode and hack mode. Overall, it's not bad, but not that good either; it's decent.
Fun game, combat inspired by F.E.A.R, Mothman fight turned me off as it was a bullet sponge and that spells out what is waiting for me in future levels... wave mode has a a untrue save system where it puts at the round you were at with zero assets you accumulated. Not a fun design. Otherwise combat is fast paces and fun but ♥♥♥♥ you for the dumb design choices
Trepang2 clearly wants to be a spiritual successor to FEAR—fast, brutal, stylish gunfights—but the opening hour doesn’t earn that comparison. It’s loud, messy, and visually overwhelming, with combat that feels more like button‑mashing spectacle than tight, tactical gunplay. There’s potential buried under the chaos, but the first impression is more frustrating than fun.
SPOILER WARNING!!!
I loved when John Trepang trepanged all over the place
Literally the best game ever made. The soundtrack is 10/10 The game play is 10/10 The story is 11/10 Its hard to describe why the story so good without spoiling the game but I'll try. subject 106 (the protagonist) appears like a doom guy like, flat character at first, but the more you pay attention to the story the more you understand him. The story is has many layers and isn't what it seams at first, you could play the whole game and still not get it, but like in a good way. The game play is top tier and very dynamic based on the map and such. On higher difficulties you really need to pay attention because the enemies are actually good at killing you. I felt like every choice I made was being judged by the game and one wrong move could get me killed but on lower difficulties it can be enjoyed by everyone, the game lets you relax if you don't want to play on rage mode. There is a wide range of enemies to fight and boss fights are crazy cool, especially the fights from the bladekisser DLC. Every enemy screams and reacts in fear to 106 which makes you feel hella cool but also sad about them, the voice acting for them is unreal. The soundtrack has to be the best I've heard in a game, it isn't even close, nothing can match how well it captures the feel of the game, its a core part of Trepang2. The metal beats are so good they sold me on metal and now its the only genre of music I listen to. I played the game on linux all the way though multiple times and didn't encounter any bugs caused by linux or proton compatibility layers, I'm happy to say that this runs perfectly on linux.
Pra quem gosta do primeiro FEAR, esse jogo é essencial É realmente MUITO divertido A campanha é curtinha, mas ele vai te deixar com vontade de fazer as missões secundárias depois só pra ter mais do combate dele
great story, amazing gameplay, worth the price definitely. Around 7-8 hours long, short but sweet
was recommended to my by an acquaintance and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i did not expect this game to be so good. the story and gameplay are PHENOMENAL. dont get me started on the soundtrack either, it is SO damn good. currently on an extreme difficulty run if that says anything about how much i love playing this. only thing i wish could be tweaked was being able to hear the original voicelines that you hear in your very first playthrough of the game, but other than that this game is amazing and criminally underrated!
