Was fun and had a decent challenging aspect to it with the difficulty settings. cant wait to unlock all the fun skins. Also like how ADS is a cheat that needs to be unlocked. make the game just that much more difficult and less like a game cheat
As someone who hasn't played FEAR, I can safely say the game stands up on it's own merits. Enemy AI is pretty great, and brutal on Extreme/Rage mode. The only complaint I have is when a grenade going off directs them towards you instead of the explosion, but that rarely matters when grenades are a "go loud" option. Stealth is an option, and shooting out lights is a great feature. Weapon sounds range from loud to ear-bleeding (in a good way). In terms of performance, each one has it's own niche, with some standing out as superior to the rest (cough shotgun cough). Weapon mods can also change how a weapon functions, and makes the Machine Gun actually usable. Vector has the wrong recoil though, 0/10. The story is unobtrusive. Cutscenes are (thankfully) very rarely longer than 15 seconds, and the intel docs are a good way to give worldbuilding to those interested. When you do look into the story, it is interesting enough to justify inclusion into the shooting gallery. Graphics are great for a UE4 game, and performance never dipped too low even during intense firefights. Enemy designs are good, if a bit generic. Boss designs more than make up for that, though. DLC is worth it for the sword alone, never mind the solid missions that it comes with.
This game is awesome, getting in the flow of combat is very satisfying. There's some jank to it, but nothing game breaking. Surprisingly the lore and world is interesting, i wish it was fleshed out more or presented in a better way instead of the collectible files scattered on each level, maybe if another game comes in the future being either a precuel or sequel we can dive more in depth.
Now, i have gotten all the archivements, even the rage mode playthrough, let me tell you that it isnt impossible youll have to switch your approach to the combat (and in the end it even will make you a better player). Id reccomend going through the game once on hard or very hard picking up the collectibles and getting a feel of each mission and then going for the rage mode run (you will save yourself the other two difficulties related archivements and you dont have to do the dlc missions wich might be the most difficult ones). There's plenty of guides and strats for each mission on either youtube or steam.
In resume, the game is really fun, it can provide a good challenge and its usually heavily discounted.
Trepang2 :)
Absolute storyline perfection.
Changed my life
I beat it. That's not a common thing I say with games. Decent story and the gameplay is pretty cool. Would take it over any new Doom game.
BANGER GAME
Absolute Cinema
Good gameplay, alright voice acting, awful climax missions, lackluster level design, terrible audio-mixing, frequent UI bugs, no manual saves, inconsistent enemy damage, bullet-sponge enemies, piss-easy bosses, Not enough main missions, too many arena-shooter filler missions (that are increased in the combat simulations), ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ story and pretentious ending. The only cycle to break here is not buying this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
