You start in an empty room, all you can do is walk, dash, and shoot. Then the fist enemy or two spawn. You shoot them or dash through them. You realize dashing through them gives you special shots so you use those. You shot 3 bullets instead of 1. You kill a few more enemies. Then the music builds up and the beat drops. A wave of enemies and a boss drop in. You kill them and also by now a crate should've spawned. You dash through it like an idiot and so you have no chance to choose an upgrade. This repeats till you die at about 200k. After playing like an unconscious toddler for another hour or two you do some achievements and find out the strat of picking up a million multishots and spamming specials during the boss waves. You get in the 100m. 200m. 500m. Now some idiot named kaley is crying about jellyfish while youre getting destroyed by enemies who shoot the instant they spawn (I hate turrets). You write a review cause that kaley guy did and you dont have enough time for another run. Good Game.
Quick Score: 3/5 Notes: Overall a well made and polished game, but incredibly simplistic and barebones in terms of mechanics, stage design, enemies, etc. There are no challenging achievements, so unless you are interested in leaderboards the game doesn't offer very much. In general I wouldn't actually recommend this game, your money would be better spent on several other similarly priced twin-stick/bullet-hell games. But I like the devs other game "Trash quest" and I'm feeling generous, so ill give this the upvote just to help them out.
First off let me say that this game is without a doubt worth the price. However there are still a few issues that hurt the experience if you're trying to go for a high score. First off, scattershot is without a doubt the best special and there is absolutely no reason to pick any of the other two since scattershot scales with the multishot upgrade. A suggestion to fix this would be to add upgrades for the other two special such as bigger radius for explosion and longer chain range for the grenade. Second of all the jellyfish-like enemies are way too annoying, dashing to avoid projectiles just to land on top of a jellyfish is one of the most frustrating things as you completely lose your multiplier for something you can't even really avoid. This could be fixed by fixing my third issue with the game, the camera. Yes sometimes having the camera off-centered would allow you to see enemies further away if you're backed up against a wall of the other side of the camera. However the jellyfish enemies usually just sneak behind you making it impossible to react in time. I would love to see an option to have the camera be centered to your character. Hopefully the dev will read this and consider some of the ideas. Although as I stated earlier, this game is definitely worth the price and I would still recommend it :).
Cute and rad.
