Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 10 → 3.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
A voice is saying your name. A WWII-era machine, long hidden in a church basement, whirs to life. Through a crackling speaker, a man asks you to find a stolen book. He only knows the title. Time is running out.
The machine, created by Bletchley Park engineers Cecil Caulderly and Beatrice Dooler, contains a vast archive of obscure books, letters, and journals fed in over the span of fifty years in an attempt to crack the code of reality. As their lives fell apart, the machine kept working.
Navigate the computer’s archive. Link its obscure texts and uncover its creators’ secrets. Communicate with the man behind the speaker to figure out your role in this mystery. Destroy the book at the core of the machine — before it’s too late.
Deduce links through the archive to locate hidden sources.
Unravel the stories and unearth the secrets of the books’ authors and the machine's creators.
Map the archive and find the book that will rewrite the world.
Talk with your handler at any time, creating a dynamic audio drama that responds as you explore.
Featuring the voices of Rebekah McLoughlin (The SCP Archives, Eternal Threads), Paul Warren (A Highland Song, Viewfinder, The Séance of Blake Manor) and Phillipe Bosher (Baldur's Gate 3, Doctor Who, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy).
Original soundtrack by Laurence Chapman (A Highland Song, Heaven's Vault, The Mask of the Rose).
TR-49 takes inspiration from narrative deduction games like The Roottrees are Dead, The Return of the Obra Dinn, Type Help and Her Story, and from audio dramas like The Magnus Archives and ars PARADOXICA.

Its an incredibly inkle game. Slow, methodical, with lots to ponder.
Fantastic, fun and clever little game :-). Incredible(!) voice-acting. It's not so much a puzzle/escape game as an explore-the-fiction-while-you-click-around-and-collect-stuff game, once you've clocked the mechanics. I 100% enjoyed the 6 hours it took me to complete + the extra hunt for alternate endings. Wish there was more to this world :).
This was a very interesting, story-driven game! Does not have action or horror, so be warned!

Oh wow, I was frustrated at first because I didn't get it then it just clicked. After it clicked I couldn't put it down before I finished. If you like puzzles you'll love this! such an interesting concept and story, fair to say my jaw was on the floor when I got my first ending.
Whatever you are expecting of this game, you're wrong. If after an hour of playing you think you understand it, you're wrong as well. My head hurts from how smart this thing is
fantastic game! very similar to type help/galley house and obra dinn. the game is a little difficult to get started on but i was hooked after 30 minutes or so, i think many of the negative reviews dont understand that its supposed to be a little bit of a learning curve with the ui navigation. super well done
I love that these sorts of deduction games are getting more and more popular. This is a solid entry with some unique gameplay aspects and a fun presentation. I felt like I was making good progress constantly while playing and stayed up a bit late to finish it all in one night. It's not particularly difficult, but there are a few neat little logical leaps it asks you to figure out. The story was engaging enough to keep me interested, but nothing that is going to stick with me. I appreciated that it was all voice acted, there are some nice touches.
You are tasked to tidy up a database, with only a few inputs: 2 letters, 2 numbers. But who made it, and what for? What is really the task? Investigate, read, try codes, rinse and repeat. I got very mad at the game in the first hour, not getting anything at all and trying random combinations. Then it clicked, and all made sense. I recommend it.
Stunning game. Bizarre, but stunning. So incredibly up my alley as someone who enjoyed The Roottrees are Dead.
