I've thought of many things to say about this gem, but I'll try to keep it simple: this is the most underrated game I've ever played. If you're the type of player that likes to challenge yourself and hone your skills, and you like retro graphics, then you will absolutely love this game. In TowerClimb, you can have an exciting 2-3 hour session where you're really focused, but it's also great for casually playing for 5-10 minutes just to pass time. The gameplay is really deep and well-planned. There are many ways you can creatively overcome obstacles, but at the same time the game feels simple. Few games manage to pull this off. The charming graphics, sounds and music create a cozy, yet scary atmosphere that draws you in while fitting the challenging nature of the game. The tower has many intriguing mysteries, guaranteed to sparkle your curiosity. But you can't just go ahead and explore them, because it's extremely dangerous. One mistake, and you could end up in floor 1 again. Which makes the mysteries so exciting! You have moments of tension where you think "should I go in there? seems dangerous... but I wonder what's inside that door!" And the game rewards you properly for your trouble. It's not just silly easter eggs or useless items. The secret areas reward you with a lot of great stuff, new content, new music, game modes, etc. One last thing: this game even has a great, wholesome community, where people share their experiences and motivate each other to beat the game. TowerClimb was made with a lot of passion. I hope you give it a try!
tafy my me a tower cilb
This game is unforgiving. This game is catastrophically, fundamentally difficult. This game is life-ruining, and yet one cannot halt the desire to climb. One must and will climb. Perseverance is key, for the further one progresses, the more bounties the game presents. It can get unhealthily (destructively even) addicting, so please be mindful of your mental and physical health. You are likely to feel an entire array of emotions throughout your journey, sometimes within a short time span. It can be despair, mania, panic, euphoria, relief, tension, fear, doom, dizziness, greed, contentment, rage, bloodlust, bloodlust, bloodlust, bloodlust, bloodlust.
a very special game
It's very good and only gets better the further you get. Use inverted run to spare your feeble hands.
"Spelunky is one of my favorite video games. I would love to see a version of Spelunky with wider branches, more action, and crazier mechanics." The Monkey's Paw listened, and the finger curled. There's an amazing game under the hood here that I'll never get to play because of the frustratingly clunky controls. This is not "clunky because the mechanics are unique and the movement takes time for adjustment". This is "I know exactly what I want my character to do, but the controls defy all intuition". In 1.5 hours, I was still dying because my hands just could not produce basic gameplay. Call it a skill issue, I don't care. I've enjoyed games far more challenging than this one, but the difference is I was fighting the gameplay rather than my controller.
somebody make an online co-op mod and my soul is yours
It's like a Bizzarro-world Spelunky
came from a youtuber, dosh doshington, and was surprised to see how much harder it was than it appeared. the controls are insanely stupid, and its probably gonna take me another 20 hours to get used to them. the game itself is very very unforgiving, much more so on "normal" mode (should be called hard more, and easy should be normal, since its really difficult to have only 1 revive). being an indie, action roguelike it has a bunch of janky hitboxes (1 pixel lava droplet is enough to insta kill you btw), indie jank and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG level generation, but when it works, it works. honestly barely recommended it since most of the good content is in chapter 2, which is end game and the pipeline from new player to end game player is nonexistant alongside the community not really wanting to play together (atleast i couldnt find anyone who wanted to play with me). get a friend and suffer together is the best recommendation for this, if you have any.
i love this game! but MAN, is it hard. it is in no way for everyone. you will lose hour long runs to slight miscalculations. i've learned to love it. many rag on the game for its graphics, but i personally really like them. it makes wonderful use of shaders and the pixel art is great! soundtrack is amazing too
