SCORE 9/10 Fun and unique game mechanics. Most of the time I don't know if there are enemies to avoid or not since I just keep on summoning units and letting them advance on their own. I love how I could spam units to overrun my enemies. The game crashed though when I picked up a 1-up. The game has a built-in replay where you can watch your playthroughs. It doesn't seem to have much replay value, unless you're a speed runner. Want to see how chaotic with bots, enemies, bullets, lasers, etc. your screen would be in the last few stages of the game? Check out this video link https://youtu.be/kH3fshPgvjU
This game deserves more attention. It is a matter of picking up the right "soldiers"and deploying them in a certain order. You will tumble into different ennemies. You need to find a way to reach the exit. Fun game. I love it. It can be frantic. The more time you spent in the game, the better you get.
A game that takes the concept of tower defense and reverses it. You make a tower (like the disgaea version of one) with people stacked on top of each other doing an action. Kind of like an attachment in an arcade shooter or bullet hell. You also have the option of detaching your tower and send them ahead to clear the path. You buy troops on the platform stage using a resource that fills up when you destroy something. You sometimes get other power ups. Your main unit is helpless other than being able to buy troops. In a sense, it's a troop buying game. The English version can be worded in a bit of a confusing way but nothing major. The concept of the game isn't very dificult to grab just by playing. Recommended to people who like platforming, shooting games or who are entertained by the sillyness of a bunch of guys on top of each other. check out this curator group for more Japanese games. https://store.steampowered.com/curator/33962119-Japanese-Games-On-PC/
This is really nice action tower offence game, little bit of resource managing, a lot of action and some platforming. Cute characters, little bit of story, great music and all around amazing game. I couldn't put down controller until I beat it, really worth it!

Tower Offence! is an experimental indie action title that deliberately subverts expectations suggested by its name. Rather than adhering to familiar tower defense conventions, the game reframes the idea of “towers” as mobile, living units that you collect, stack, and hurl into battle. Developed and published by Daisessen, it places the player in a bleak, lightly sketched science-fiction setting and asks them to progress not through refined mechanics or elaborate systems, but through sheer accumulation and momentum. The result is a rough-edged experience that feels more like a playable experiment than a traditionally structured action game. At the center of Tower Offence! is the idea of numerical dominance. The player character moves through hostile environments gathering allied units, each adding to an ever-growing swarm that follows, stacks, and collides with enemies and terrain. These allies function almost like living tools, providing offensive pressure simply by existing in sufficient quantity. Combat rarely hinges on precision inputs or timing; instead, it becomes an exercise in amassing enough bodies to overpower opposition through chaos. Watching a crowd of units tumble into enemies or cascade off ledges creates moments of accidental spectacle, where success feels as much emergent as intentional. The game’s mechanics are intentionally simple, sometimes to a fault. Units serve basic roles such as offense, defense, or support, but the distinctions are not deeply explained or expanded upon. Much of the gameplay relies on experimentation and trial-and-error rather than clear instruction, which can make early moments feel confusing or aimless. There is a sense that the player is expected to discover how systems interact organically, but the lack of feedback or clarity can also obscure what is actually working versus what merely looks effective amid the on-screen chaos. Progression exists, but it is subtle and loosely defined. There are no traditional upgrade trees, elaborate skill systems, or structured difficulty curves. Instead, advancement comes from surviving encounters, collecting more allies, and pushing forward into new areas. This gives the game an unusual rhythm, where momentum replaces mastery as the primary driver of success. When things go well, the experience feels oddly satisfying, as if brute force itself has become a form of strategy. When things fall apart, however, it can be difficult to understand why, which may frustrate players looking for consistent rules or predictable outcomes. Narrative elements are minimal and largely backgrounded. The setting hints at a world fractured by conflict and resource scarcity, with floating continents and discarded remnants of war forming the backdrop. These ideas add atmosphere but are never fully developed or integrated into gameplay in a meaningful way. There are no strong character arcs or story beats to propel the experience forward, leaving the player’s motivation rooted almost entirely in curiosity and mechanical experimentation rather than narrative investment. Visually, Tower Offence! reflects its indie origins through simple models and sparse environments. The presentation prioritizes function over polish, and while this can lend the game a certain raw charm, it also contributes to a sense of incompleteness. Animations and effects are basic, and audio feedback is limited, sometimes making it difficult to parse what is happening during crowded encounters. For some players, this lo-fi presentation reinforces the game’s experimental identity; for others, it highlights a lack of refinement that makes longer sessions feel draining. Overall, Tower Offence! is a niche title best approached with adjusted expectations. It is not a carefully balanced action game nor a deep strategy experience, but rather a proof-of-concept built around the joy of overwhelming force and unpredictable outcomes. Players who enjoy unconventional indie experiments and don’t mind ambiguity or rough edges may find brief enjoyment in its chaotic swarms and emergent moments. Those seeking structured progression, clear systems, or long-term depth are likely to find the experience too minimal to sustain interest. Tower Offence! ultimately stands as an example of indie creativity driven by a single idea, executed with enthusiasm but limited by its lack of polish and systemic clarity. Rating: 5/10
