Total War: SHOGUN 2

I definitely think its an okay addition to Total War but I think it is WAY overrated. Its alright but not worthy of 90% on steam man. Mods are the only way I find it fun personally,

An actual good Total War game + its actually hard. I think the only real problem is that its Japan only, its very much a deciding factor when it comes to if id rather play Medieval 1, Rome and Medieval 2 over this. Even Medieval 1 which is pretty basic arguably has more to it than this game. That is not to say this game is bad or has small amount of content, in fact it is very rich in quality and gameplay. Playing this game and it just, functioning after playing the older games, or coming from the newer games that just do not feel right to a game that, feels like it clicks in every way it does its just awesome. It is a very challenging game, both in good and bad ways. Older games can be clunky and even have some pretty hard cheats but how hard they are it depends. Medieval 2 is honestly pretty chill but something like Rome can be more annoying with damage boosts AI gets. Never games are hard because they are so boring [serious how can someone play Rome 2 or Atila?] Its one thing this series does badly, on lower difficulties AI is gimped but on higher AI gets cheats and sadly Shogun 2 happens to fall under this. While Normal is a significant challenge coming from other games it can't be denied that at times AI is, stupid, while on later difficulties AI just cheats, blatantly. Hard seems to be a good mix where it doesn't get too bad but you can still somewhat see it. Obviously good players can come and deal with any of these things but its a shame there isn't just an option for Very Hard AI tactics and Minimal cheats, sort of how Medieval 2 does it but there AI would be lack luster even if it got 10k gold a turn. Not to mention Realm Divide which is the single biggest screw you next to like Climate Change on Atila. The game content is also a question, its not completely deprived of it, but Medieval 1 has such a large map, building choices and units, then you go to this and there is little of it. Like no really Medieval 1's depth for its time and considering what this series became its kind of shocking. Really its the quality of the game is what just makes most of the negatives not matter. AI for the most part is pretty competent. Visually the game is stunning years later. The techonlogies and combat while in some ways actually less advanced than Napoleon make up for the fact that, its just good. Its one singular location with mostly one singular faction done the best it can be and it really is fun. Even when i get absolutely crushed its just so entertaining and its easily one of the highest quality games in this series and out of the new games i played they just do not compare. However it has a blood DLC so that is a minus -1 i can only give this game a 9 at best.
