About
Following the harrowing events at Wildberger Hospital, Caroline Walker hopes for a normal life with her sister, Anna. Yet in the months that follow, Anna is haunted by visions of violence and death, compelling her to create disturbing drawings that rapidly manifest into horrifying reality.
Desperate to free her of this affliction, Caroline travels to the remote town of Villa Hess and a mysterious clinic nestled deep within the mountains of southern Chile. But behind the warm smiles of the facility’s serene staff lies a sickening truth, and the sisters soon find themselves at the center of an entirely new nightmare…
Explore a huge variety of unnerving locations within the town, including a shadowy convent, a derelict shopping mall, and an abandoned school.

Harness your supernatural powers to switch between realities, change the past to reshape the present, and search for alternate paths forward in the nightmarish 'other side'.

Collect and modify an arsenal of makeshift weapons such as the nailer and chainsaw, and utilize the new quick select feature to switch armaments in the heat of battle.

Examine, manipulate, and combine items to reveal hidden information, and forge connections between objects and the environment to solve intricately designed puzzles.

Face off against lethal new enemies, from skittering bladed horrors to hulking armored abominations, and use your wits to survive monstrous boss encounters.

Peel back the layers of a complex story full of twists and revelations. Encounter and cooperate with other characters each with their own agenda and dark secrets.

Relive the classic fixed-camera survival horror of the 90s with limited saves and tank controls, or switch to assisted mode for a more casual experience.

I finished *Tormented Souls 2* with about 30 hours of playtime and spent some additional time in New Game+. Compared to the first installment, this one offers plenty of visual variety and a greater range of enemies and weapons. The music and atmosphere in this game have also been well thought out. In this game, searching rooms and collecting items remains fun. Unfortunately, there are a few things that are bothersome: the puzzles are sometimes so difficult that they are impossible to solve without a video or a guide, and it is a mystery to me how some people come up with the solutions. The next point is that the boss fights are very frustrating, as it is almost impossible to dodge the opponent's attacks, and having a good run against them depends more on luck. A good example would be the very first boss in the monastery. As soon as you fight that giant nun, she will hit you with her hammer 80% of the time. In New Game Plus, I noticed a few new elements, such as weapons. In my opinion, they offer no added value and ruin the game's immersion due to the unlimited ammunition. A few outfits for Caroline would have provided more motivation. Then I wouldn't be so put off by the idea of playing through it again. Overall, the game design is well-executed and generally offers a decent length of gameplay. However, there is room for improvement in some areas. for instance, the game could provide more detailed hints if a player is stuck on a puzzle for too long, and the boss battles, especially during the first playthrough could be made less extreme.

Truly one of the best indie survival horror games out there. Caroline Walker has certainly earned her place in the hall of fame for female survival horror protagonists, among the Jill Valentines and Heather Masons of the genre. Tormented Soul 2 is a true sequel to its predecessor in every way. It maintains all of the core elements that made the first game beloved, while also expanding in a way that feels organic and true to the identity of the series. It is not uncommon for sequels to lose some of the charm of the original, however that is thankfully not the case here. The puzzles are still challenging and require critical thinking. The voice acting has improved significantly, and cutscenes offer much more emotional resonance. Careful exploration and backtracking are rewarded, not only with resources, but also with lore for the game's story as well as optional upgrades. The art direction and lighting are as stunning as ever, and genuinely some of the best in the genre. One distinction I will make - the first game is certainly a scarier game overall and has a foreboding and dreadful atmosphere all throughout. A large part of the reason for this is because the first game takes place entirely indoors, which adds to the feeling of claustrophobia. While Tormented Souls 2 is certainly still a horror game, it is notably less scary, though not to a degree that takes away from the quality of the game. There are several outdoor sections which break the always-indoor mold, and there is an air of quiet melancholy throughout many sections of the game. The horror definitely ramps up towards the final act of the game. Definitely make use of the brightness slider in the settings to get the best atmosphere and lighting, as the game does not have you set this on launch. This game is a must-play for fans of survival horror. Ignore the nay-sayers.
A standard modern take of the classic survival horror game. Explore a location, solve puzzles that make no real life sense and fight monsters. If you are familiar with the first installment, this is very similar as far as I can remember. The environments look good, especially in the dark areas where your light source creates shadows. There are a couple of distinct environments this time. It makes the exploration a bit more interesting and is a nice change. Some of them nicely claustrophobic with narrow corridors. The puzzles are easy on average, but there are a couple of better ones in there. They do often have that crazy logic that is familiar from these games, as mentioned earlier. The pacing is pretty good. There are often stretches of game, where enemies are not around and you're just focusing on the exploration. There's a heavy Silent Hill influence in my opinion. The combat is ok. Your character is not a seasoned soldier, so it makes sense that it is a bit clumsy. It is annoying though that often you will take hits because of the camera angles. Something that is right in front of the character is invisible to the player, which is jarring. However, on the standard difficulty the game is not too hard. You just need to be smart with your resources, although the "ink ribbon" save system does require you to repeat some content if you happen to die. There are a couple of bugs that I encountered during my playthrough, two of them pretty bad. One of them prevented me from closing the "you picked up X" screen, forcing me to alt-F4 out of the game, while the other made one of the bosses unbeatable and prevented me from progressing. The devs patched the second issue in two weeks and it seems they are still actively improving the game. There are a myriad of other technical issues as well. No ultrawide resolution, or at least I couldn't get it working. On controller, menus are navigated by moving a mouse cursor with the joystick. Sometimes your character refuses to target enemies on stairs. Minor things, but annoying none the less. The story is good, but not something I'll keep thinking about after beating the game. Recommended, if you like the classic survival horror games. It is a competent one of those.
Muy buen juego
