The Night Of The Inquisitor

Excellent retro PuppetCombo-like (I hope I just forged a brand new tag!) survival horror, very reminiscent of Nun Massacre for the creepy religious background. I found the game very fun and very well designed, with a clever balance between puzzle solving and running for your life. The retro graphics are gorgeous, the atmosphere is gloomy and haunting, and the main antagonist is particularly charismatic, he's not just a soulles copy of the usual random maniac, he has an original story. Also, some of the gameplay mechanics are surprisingly smart, they added something new and fresh to a genre that nowadays is perhaps being over-exploited and is becoming a bit stall. Overall, I strongly recommend this game if you are a fan of Puppet Combo and Chilla's Art, or of retro-gaming in general. You'll find a delicious treat here. Cheers guys!

Night of the Inquisitor is a throwback to old retro horror games with a similar style to that of Puppet Combo. Mechanic's wise, NOTI is pretty good. It does away with the usual tropes of defending yourself with common weapons & items like melee combat & guns, but instead gives the player holy water to throw at the entities that hunt you. There are a good amount of puzzles in the game that also make you think about what to do. One of the puzzles did leave me scratching my head, but when I realised, I face palmed myself so hard. It was a really well hidden ( but also not hidden) solution. All I needed to do was pay attention. Kudos for that! The story is okay with a young girl called Emelia looking for her missing mother & ends up getting transported to another realm in search for her. There were no bugs that I could find & was able to finish the game comfortably in one sitting. Well worth the price. Graphics were good if you are into the whole low poly aesthetic & it filled me with nostalgia which gives the dev extra bonus points. Well done!

Not good, not terrible. Not worth the full price. Can be ended in less than an hour. Gives no motivation to see all the endings. Will refund it.

I enjoyed this one. Captures the 90s survival horror feel nicely. It even features some voice over work which I appreciate. Reminds me a bit of Puppet Combo games..Bloodwash and Murder House. The main issue I had was usin the holy water. It can be tough to aim it at the enemies. I wasted like 2 in a row at one point lol. Still a solid game for 3 bucks. Great horror game!

extremely ok. seems it has multiple endings if you feel like playing the game more than once, but I thought a single playthrough was fine for me. not the best fixed camera angle survival horror game I've played, not the worst either.

Pretty good and short game if you have nostalgia for classic Resident Evil or Silent Hill

The Playstation/VHS style is there but there's no controller support so the tank movement and every key mapped for the left hand is going to give you carpol tunnel. Sheet-wearing ghosts and Mamma Maria holy water supernatural goofiness is not scary to me in any way at all. It had me laughing! The blue text box is jarring. The only Playstation game I can think of with a blue text box was FFVII. The area I quit at is just random buildings inside a mock Silent Hill arena with nightmarescape wall/floor textures, fences, gates, etc., and a fuse box in the middle of nowhere for no reason. And the white-sheet-ghosts... Modern society is scary, spooky Pentagram Land isn't.
