Short and sweet platformer with satisfying movement mechanics that allow you to continually improve and master the game. It's fun to compete on the leaderboards to try and improve your times!
Very unique, fun and charming platformer.
If the game continues to be good, it will become a hidden gem.
This is a very unique and interesting take on the classic platformer. It reminds me of Chameleon Twist for the N64, but Chameleon Twist attempted success in a 3D environment, whereas games like this shine in classic side-scroller format. This is a great game, but not for the faint of heart. I actually found it too challenging.
Tongue Tale is a very fun, but tough as nails precision platformer. As a fan of Celeste and precision platformers in general, this game was a great experience for me. Looking forward to more great precision platformers!
It was a very fun and challenging experience! I do have to say that it's very very difficult at the last 3 levels so it might not be possible for casual gamers to complete it. It does have a cool party mode though to compensate for it. Nonetheless I think an easy mode might be cool for more casual players. The easiest way to do so might be adding checkpoints to some sections :D Definitely worth its money
Tongue Tale is a rather refreshing take on the indie platformer genre, which takes very clear inspiration from the classics like Super Meat Boy and Celeste. The difficulty is a little inconsistent for the first two worlds, mostly because the game needs to introduce all the basic mechanics and give the player the chance to properly understand them, but from the third world onward it's a very fun and increasingly challenging experience. I was genuinely impressed by how much content this game actually has, given that its price tag would suggest something much shorter, but with the collectibles and the dark world there's definitely more than enough to keep you busy for a while. Speaking of collectibles, it's a nice touch that not all of them are just "clear this section with slightly more precise timing than usual" and instead require you to resolve some mechanics unique to that specific collectible, since it provides the player a nice short break from the main gameplay loop. Only "critique" I can think of is that some of the bonus screen/dark world mechanics would have been nicer to see in the main levels, and that the explosion from the rockets sometimes covers up your sprite to the point that you can't tell if you actually passed the section or just ran into a spike again. In any case, if you enjoy a nice platformer that poses a decent challenge without going into Kaizo Mario territory then you should definitely check this game out.
Tongue Tale is a very unique platformer because of the tongue mechanic. If you like difficult platformer games, like celeste, this game is heavily for you.
I love it! So glad I really enjoy the online records to battle it out with my friends! Hope someday there will be a sequel. 🤞
