I got this for 0.99 cents, so I am a little biased about whether its worth it or not. It is pretty fun, but has a lot of problems. The physics feel clunky and annoying, it being a rougelike just doesn't work. The random generation is good, but doesn't really make it feel different every time, since you do the same task every time. The rock monster chase felt cool in the first jungle level, but lots of stuff about this game just feels off. It seems like it had a lot of potiental, but somewhat squandered. Still worth 0.99 cents. Also, why is it a rougelike? It doesn't really make sense with how the game works.

I almost got an hour into it, and it was fun, but got monotonous quickly, and maybe I don't hafta fight everything to the death but why not, and then I died again and don't feel like restarting. Roguelikes are maybe not my favorite. There's definitely some good elements thrown together to make this, and in 2020 it shows its age a little but it's still enjoyable. Maybe I'll come back and play a half hour here and there, and maybe someday I'll give it a solid go and see if I can actually beat the game. It gets mediocre reviews, and I get that people may expect more. But this is a 2014 casual roguelike, so you'll enjoy this most if you set your expectations aside and just play a bit. TLDR: for a good sale price it's hard to go too wrong. But try not to calculate the actual dollars-per-hour of playtime if you only get 0.8 hours out of it. This game is okay, and "okay" + "cheap" = "recommended, I guess".
Pros: The devs tried their best. Cons: Unnecessary physics collisions make it run like ass. All game mechanics are unexplained. No progression after death, just restart to the start. The whole story is given in the form of text walls. Gameplay loop is block, attack, stutter, killed during framedrop, restart. It's not for me.
https://youtu.be/FOC_fEokJPc Limited variety of enemies and levels exhaust what this game has to offer quickly while the random perks do little to bolster the variety of play.
Honestly a really good game. Absolutely worth the $10 in my opinion. Love the art style and its a lot of fun to explore the dungeons and find all the easter eggs while leveling up
Gameplay for 30 minutes, very easy game.
This game is good, fast-paced, hack and slash fun, but it does require a specific strategy (farm gold to use at the 100 gold shrines) to do well in, so keep that in mind!
