Game is abandoned. If you are waiting for an update like the controller update, it aint happening. They fired everyone on the team and there's barely anyone working. I'd only buy this if it was $5. From their Discord: "Yeah... the tiny little interesting thing about that is that we're kinda on hold 😬 times were tough after the release, so we've had to let everyone go (you could see life disappear from the server immediately after Elja went away) and clear out the office. We're terribly sorry for not delivering..."
cute idea but feels wildly unfinished. do not pay full price for this. lacks serious quality of life, feels extremely tedious. no reason to farm half of what you do, no reason to level up relationships with crew or morps (which is annoying and rng based on its own), no reason to use a lot of your research. we finished the main storyline and went oh what was the point lol it could be really fun and enjoyable in the future but it looks like from other comments its been abandoned which is a shame
I was hoping this would be Slime Ranchers mixed with Satisfactory. It's more like Slime Rancher crossed with Animal Crossing New Horizons with sprinkles of automation. My solo experience to this point has me very much "whelmed." I would like to take a moment to point out that a 1.1 update was promised and planned for Q2 of 2025 but no news pertaining to said update has come out and it's early Q4 2025. The art direction is cute! I loved the player customization; though I found it odd how it felt I could only make feminine looking characters. I loved the abundance of decor and how you could frequently find blank morps chilling in cute poses. I do have a few complaints: The automation comes into play way late, so for the first few hours it feels like a massive chore simulator where I'm juggling seven tasks in order to make a small dent of progress. The morps are underutilized with over 25% of them being part of the same evolution line. The fence system sucks, with my corps frequently dropping outside the fence and my inability to create large non-morp fenced areas. Overall, I don't think it's a bad game by any means. However, I came hoping for a game with a greater focus on automation and where developers can communicate on their roadmap. I think this game would be a better time with friends.
# Something for everyone My boyfriend and I have different taste in games - I enjoy the cozy stardew valley type, he's more the automation and upgrading fanatic. I was drawn to this game because of the cute little creatures and style and suggested to my boyfriend we try the Demo since it has automation. So we decided to give it a shot, and we have absolutelyyyy #norugrats. Even the Demo alone already gets you several hours of playtime, and after investing 5 hours into the Demo, buying the game was a no-brainer for us. We spent day and night on the game, fully addicted and not wanting to play anything else anymore. I'm only sad that's it over. I really love how this game has something for everyone. Farming, fishing, cooking, automation, pet collection, a story line, exploration, tool upgrading, etc. etc. - if you know the pain of having a friend group with different tastes, I can really suggest trying this game! My personal highlights: - Super easy multiplayer (legit just 2 clicks without using annoying steam overlay) - Cute graphics and design - NPCs with fun personalities (HalfBeard, if you decide to get VA for this game, PLEASE I volunteer xD) - Mechanics that make sense - Rewarding progression and good pacing I do hope the devs get to flesh out the game some more, because there's room for more content, more morps, and more story and I'd love to get to play more of this game.
I'd call this a crafting sandbox creature collector with some rudimentary story. You have some quests that give you a little guidance but that's about it. The automation is very lackluster as you can't automate the watering of plants beside certain morps (collectible critters) because the "tech" of the sprinkler changes the theme of the habitat which makes it useless. Morps produce specific resources you need to collect and use for crafting and unlocking new items and recipes. That's a nice idea but it gets increasingly grindy and the lack of good automation makes things worse. I just stopped playing because I needed to feed a certain once a day produce of a specific morp four times to another morp to make it evolve. The game wanted me to repeat this process with six morps of two different species. So the days this takes: 4x6x2=48 ingame days at a point where I finished 150 days total already. You also can't run in this game, so everything is pretty slow and fishing is very time consuming. I like the artstyle and cozy and cute feeling a lot, but don't expect to put more than a couple of hours into the game. The developers got fired shortly after the release, so there won't be any updates to the game anytime soon if at all. The game feels half baked to be honest. The gameplay loop is repetitive and there's no goal or reason for anything. It's good for about 10 hours of gameplay at the most, I wouldn't buy it again.
Such a wonderful game that deserves more attention, this game was made with so much love and attention to detail it has made me happy cry which I can't say any game has made me do. The fact that this game is so good with such a small team going through hard times and struggling with money is just wow. I can't wait for any future update this game has and I'll be sure to tell people about this game
The first few minutes I was like 'hm, I don't know,' but then I met the Morps. I am in love with the Morps. Their sounds and behaviors are so precious, and you can stack them. It's a little bit grindy in the gathering of materials, and sometimes getting space for the buildings you need is a little bit of a hassle, but it's still very cute and fun, and I'd recommend it if you enjoy games like Slime Rancher, for the simple joy of seeing, holding, and tending to cute little creatures.
very clunky, copy paste graphics, not great customization. especially being abandoned, no tutorial for buttons so you just end up button mashing. for 20 dollars, i get maybe 5. dont reccommend in current state but to each their own!
