very fun at first, this game had so much potential but after a very short while you've seen everything there is to see the balancing is kinda bad, a lot of choices are a waste and there wont be any updates to the game either you can get it on sale, maybe

It's a neat little auto-battler that has enough complexity and content to keep you coming back and at least completing all the difficulty levels. Personally a big fan of the PvE and PvP modes being separate. Very neat little game.

Throne of Bone is an extremely satisfying game in the Roguelike Deckbuilding genre, and also adds in the extra of Autobattler to that categorization. I wasn't sure about that last part at first, but my concerns were assuaged within the first 5 minutes of playing. It's a great idea that is well executed. Throne of Bone is one of those games where the game literally WANTS you to break the game and get as overpowered as possible. So if you're the type who likes theory-crafting and just getting dumber and dumber combos, this game is maybe one of the best I've seen that rewards that type of experience. It's even better in that regard because an optional no-consequence option at the end of your winning runs, is to try to beat the setup that you had from your previous best run. I was sweating looking at my previous build, knowing how strong I ended up getting. That said, with trying to basically break the game, the game still feels really well balanced in terms of lots of possibilities for different stuff that will work well and different things have different strengths and weaknesses. The RNG also knows its place and rarely feels unfair. The only portion of the game that I got semi frustrated with was when I kept looking for a specific creature, since you upgrade creatures by combining more than one of them. But this was a pretty limited portion of the overall run, and I ended up making it work still. There's a whole aspect of the game to re-rolling and salvaging already owned creatures too.... so like any good game with RNG elements, there's an aspect that allows you lessen the impact of the RNG to still play effectively and work around it. Throne of Bone will also scratch the itch if you're into the whole spooky vibes and themes with the typical Undead creatures such as Zombie, Skeletons, Ghosts, and several others too. The art and visual design for the game is a real high point for me. The creature designs and artwork are some of my favorite I've seen in a while, and are distinctive enough that once you get a hang of the game mechanics, you'll recognize the cards so you'll know right away if they'll complement your build you're going for. I don't always have an interest in autobattlers, but Throne of Bone is extremely well executed and you never feel like things are out of your hands. Heck, there's even mechanics that let you take control of the minions and choose targets yourself, so you really do have a lot of control of it. Those turned off by that category should still give this a try if everything else seems appealing enough and a lot of other boxes are checked for games you're interested in. Especially for the asking price, no sale needed to give this nice game a try!
