Gorgeous hand-drawn pixel art brought to life with cinematic frame-by-frame animation.
An immersive soundtrack blending tribal rhythms with eerie sci-fi synthesizers.
A glowing stone crashes from the sky into a young hunter’s village. Its arrival draws a bloodthirsty tribe, who attack the settlement and enslave her people.
Barely escaping into the jungle, she discovers the stone’s true origin: a stranded spaceman whose damaged pod depends on it.
Together, this unlikely pair must cross dinosaur-infested lands to free her tribe and find a way to send him home.
Theropods is a classic point-and-click adventure built around visual logic. Watch how characters move, how creatures behave, and how each scene changes as you poke, prod, and experiment.
Instead of fighting your way through danger, you solve your way through it — distracting predators, avoiding enemies, triggering reactions, and finding clever ways past situations too dangerous to face head-on.
Theropods replaces dialogue trees, long conversations, and text walls with gestures, expressions, sound, and visual storytelling. The story unfolds through action: what characters do, what they notice, and what changes around them.
With no subtitles or text-heavy exposition to translate, the adventure is built to be understood by players anywhere in the world.

This game was genuinely fantastic! It had the perfect length, a tight and compelling narrative, well-designed puzzles, an incredible soundtrack, and some absolutely brutal visuals. It’s impressive how striking and visceral it can be despite its pixelated art style.
Fun little point and click adventure with an entertaining story arc and lots of dinos! Loved the art style and characters and would love to see more from this dev team in the future! Plays smoothly and tries out a lot of different aspects of the point and click style game. Would definitely recommend for a quick and fun playthrough!

I remember watching this game being in development for a long time, so happy it finally came out and wasn't disappointed at all, the wait was worth it! A really cool point and click game with dinosaurs, I love it! 🦖
beautiful
Full disclosure, I am a Kickstarter backer of this charming little point and click game. All that said, Theropods is a far cry from games like Unavowed, Monkey Island or even Darkside Detective. It's baby's first point and click. A one and done game that took me 3 hours to complete. The two main solutions are, do a thing 3 times or do thing within time window. The latter wouldn't be so bad if the inventory didn't take up most of the screen. There were times where I knew what to do and was correct but had to frantically click as the game just wouldn't acknowledge the input being made. This often led to the "I've already tried that and it did nothing" moment only to spend many frustrating minutes trying other things to only then try it again, this time more aggressively, and it would work. Outside of that the story is shallow and predictable. The only moment of interest was a bait and switch that kept things in the realm of boring predictability.
The Alien turns out to not be an alien but a black woman with the classic "lesbian" haircut.
Not sure why they did this but it was a dumb move with something that could've been so much more but the creators lack any real imagination. I would not recommend even if you do like point and click, there are so many more worthy of your time.
Story and characters are lovely. Visuals and sounds are beautiful. The puzzles are quite often more like "what haven't I tried yet" than actual logic, but they are still fun to figure out. Overall the game is great, though a bit short with 2-3 hours. So I recommend getting it when it's discounted.
Great game, the lack of dialogue is very charming as the game has to rely on inventive ways to communicate. Feels very intuitive as a result. The animations and sim-lish style voice acting are also top notch. Looking forward to playing more!
Amazing pixel graphics and a story about a prehistoric girl finding her way through tasks requiring using her cunning and figuring out how to solve point and click adventure type puzzles with items you pick up for the inventory. A very refreshing title for fans of classic adventure games.
The game opens with a nightmare of a stormy night from several years ago, when the game’s protagonist lost her mother after she sacrificed herself by jumping into a dinosaur’s mouth. This turns out to be an omen because the village of the little girl, who is now a young woman, is hit by a strange, shiny stone from the sky. This attracts a bloodthirsty tribe who want the stone for themselves. The stone is actually a power source from a spaceship that also crashes nearby. What stands out right from the start is that there’s not a single trace of letters or text throughout the game. Firstly, this is shown in the game’s prehistoric world, its characters, and the creatures inhabiting it. Everyone communicates through sounds, either grunts, short words made out of vowels, or something that might resemble a made up language. This also includes your two protagonists, the young girl and the owner of a spaceship, who is not as alien as they initially appear. Depending on the situation, you get to swap between them manually, or decide whose side of the story you want to play first, but they join forces quite soon against a common goal. The girl wants revenge against the barbarians and their leader, who killed her father and enslaved almost her entire tribe, while the alien wants the stone that will power up its spaceship. There’s also a droid, the alien’s companion, but you take control of it only in rare situations. Secondly, the lack of text is also reflected in the user interface. Like in any point and click adventure game, you move the mouse cursor around the screen and look for hotspots you can interact with. But unlike most games, there’s no description or word showing when you move over something interesting. The only visual clue is a change in your cursor, which gains four lines joining in the middle. Because of the very detailed and beautiful pixel art, it’s very easy to miss an interaction, especially if you move through a scene quickly. Fortunately, the modern quality of life feature that shows all interactions is present in the game. With the press of a button, you’ll see circles over everything you can interact with. The circle alternates between white and red, which is a bit of a poor choice because red can easily get lost in the colorful scenes. There’s one interaction per hotspot, and you’ll either perform an action, shake your head to indicate that something can’t be done, or pick something up and store it in the inventory. The Examine action, one of the most commonly used actions in adventure games, is obviously missing, so you can’t take a closer look at inventory items or gain clues from them. It’s sometimes even hard to see what exactly you’re looking at. When an inventory item is selected, it becomes active on the cursor. The hotspot highlight becomes invaluable here because it’s hard to pay attention to the little arrow next to an item, which will turn red when pointed at an interaction spot. When trying something that doesn’t work, the character will shake its head and say “na-ah” or something similar, but the item will stay on your cursor. However, if you try using it on a non-interactive spot while the little arrow is white, the item will return to the inventory. The puzzles and problems are easy to handle because you don’t have a lot of options overwhelming you at once. Even if you have to try every hotspot, there are also only a small number of them because the lack of text means there’s no need to add information about the world. You’ll find the solution or item combination within a few minutes. You never have to deal with a lot of inventory items, and most of them make sense, although there are some timing puzzles where you do something and then have a limited time window to perform the next action. If you miss it, you need to repeat the sequence. At certain points, you can also use other characters as items, such as the droid. It takes around 2 to 3 hours to reach the end, and except for a couple of missable achievements near the beginning of the game, which can be obtained easily within a few minutes, all the others are story based.
