About
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call 'Onbu'.
Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with Onbu to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world.
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over Onbu’s back. Plan production chains and optimise them to utilise the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Living on the back of another organism comes with its own set of challenges. Will you live in symbiosis, bond with Onbu and survive on mutual trust? Or will you become a parasite, only aiming to ensure a better life for your villagers? The choice is yours.
Continuously adapt your village as you travel through a multitude of different biomes, each with its unique climate zones, opportunities and threats. Scout your environments and send out foraging missions to gather rare resources and ancient artefacts.
Remnants of the old world hold knowledge that has long been forgotten, but can be unearthed by your villagers. Find and research these technologies, but use them wisely, as progress can be a double-edged sword.
Ensure the survival of both your villagers and your Onbu, even though poisonous spores, merciless weather, bloodsucking parasites and many more challenges mean that the odds are often stacked against you.

Reviews
Good city builder with unique mechanics and a sweet story for fans of the genre.
The Wandering Village is a great city builder game with great replayability, beautiful visuals, a compelling story and a charming Onbu that hooks you in. I don't play many city builders but this one is worth the buy!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I expected to like this game, but I didn't expect it to love it as much as I did!! It was very addictive and well balanced. When you wanted something more, you could research something or you would enter a different biome and had to pivot a little. I also enjoyed that you could choose how to treat your Onbu. I don't very often play games twice, but expect to play it again in the future!
Very cute game. I felt very protective of my Onbu very quickly. Well developed characters and gameplay. Fun colony building, exploration, and farming. Challenging and entertaining.
The art may look on the demos like it will kill your PC, but it's actually 2.5d anime stanups. Very Studio Ghibli. It does not lose from the 2.5d ness, and the city builder is almost full Anno depth. Borrowed some style from Against the Storm, assuming that one came first. Perhaps built off the same engine or graphics package. Also shares interface elements with Airborne Empire. The highly immersive art and sound is the main feature of value.
So niedlich war die Postapokalypse noch nie.
This is the most fun I've had with a strategy game since Age of Empires. Awesome, engaging idea and really well done mechanics! Check it out if you want a new kind of strategy game.
Очень душевно, лучшее за последнее время
I love Onbu. The game is very well crafted and looks beautiful. Works well with controllers too!
This game has improved a lot from the pre 1.0 version. The environments are simple and nice. The soundtrack is solid. The story is okay. In a world of city-builders, this one truly makes your experience unique through the use of the Onbu. Trust, poison, hunger are things to consider and a myriad of ways to adjust your village to the needs of the Onbu. It's not groundbreaking, however Wandering Village is a calm, relaxing city-builder. With the incorporation of a challenge system to make the game harder for skilled players, Wandering Village has hours of replayability to keep players interested no matter the skill level. (8.5/10) "A solid interpretation of the city-builder genre, with new elements to keep the gameplay interesting"
