About
In a world where mysterious plants are spreading all over the earth, emitting toxic spores as they grow, a small group of survivors seeks shelter on the back of a giant, wandering creature they call 'Onbu'.
Become their leader, build their settlement and form a symbiotic relationship with Onbu to survive together in this hostile, yet beautiful post-apocalyptic world.
A functioning village is the basis of your survival. Build your settlement and expand it over Onbu’s back. Plan production chains and optimise them to utilise the limited space as efficiently as possible. Create a society that can overcome any challenge.
Living on the back of another organism comes with its own set of challenges. Will you live in symbiosis, bond with Onbu and survive on mutual trust? Or will you become a parasite, only aiming to ensure a better life for your villagers? The choice is yours.
Continuously adapt your village as you travel through a multitude of different biomes, each with its unique climate zones, opportunities and threats. Scout your environments and send out foraging missions to gather rare resources and ancient artefacts.
Remnants of the old world hold knowledge that has long been forgotten, but can be unearthed by your villagers. Find and research these technologies, but use them wisely, as progress can be a double-edged sword.
Ensure the survival of both your villagers and your Onbu, even though poisonous spores, merciless weather, bloodsucking parasites and many more challenges mean that the odds are often stacked against you.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Wonderful game! Would recommend to anyone who likes city builder/management games. The art work is beautifully done and the story is not complex, but meaningful. The game puts its own spin on the management aspect and the sound track is just as beautiful as the art! I feel the game can be replayed a time or two after finishing the story and still not lose the novelty of it. I played on a 2016 MacBookPro and the game ran wonderfully and I did not have any overheating.
Cute little game. uhm....just not much to do? It's just a wash rinse of a few basic city builder mechanics over and over from start to end and the story is pretty...mediocre I guess. Fun for the 4 hours I put in, but I probably won't ever finish this one.
The Wandering Village was quite an interesting and unique take on the city builder genre. It’s a pretty standard, safe city builder type game but a few of the points of note: The game has good music and sound effects with a fairly easy control scheme to wrap your head around. Most of the game has a really nice painterly art style but with a really odd choice to make the villagers in a completely different art style that kinda clashes with the rest of the game. Not enough to detract from the game but certainly noticeable next to all the other pretty art. I only played the story mode which was not particularly difficult; so long as you are paying attention and not blasting through the game at 4x speed all the time, it would be pretty difficult to lose. The story is nice set dressing for the game though some of the narrative choices feel rushed/unearned. The ending was pretty epic though, very fulfilling. Game-play wise, if you like city builders, this will probably be a win for you. Similar in feel to Frostpunk where you’re regularly making choices to counter environmental hazards with the added cherry of being able to pick the sorts of hazards you’ll need to face from time to time. The Onbu (the big city-bearing creature) is quite lovable and you get to choose
between the path of nurture or control
and they feel equally satisfying. I would have liked a more direct indication of
trust level
. I know there’s an animation difference but you’d only know it directly correlates by finding the information outside of the game. Something as simple as
trust level
low, neutral, high when hovering over the portrait would have gone a long way for me. The game gives you lots of information to help you make decisions though I will say the one piece of info I was constantly wishing for was being able to see what was consuming resources. Often times I would get critically low on a resource and just have to click around my entire town trying to find that one building I set to make X with Y an hour ago cause I needed 10 of that item and I now have 130 X with no Y left. Overall, very much enjoyed. Returned to the game post-credits to do some of the achievements and try out a couple of the paths I didn’t really touch during the normal playthrough. 30 hours of enjoyment and can very much recommend :)
Get's annoying having to constantly switch building modes. All. The. Time. A charming game, but let down by little things like this that just stack up.
Great cozy game. Progression feels good, the city building and resource management isn't too complicated. Definitely worth the money. My only complaint is there isn't much replay value. Wish there were some modifiers on your Onbu, things like amount of grass/mud/stone, so maybe you have to do a run with mostly mushrooms, or you have a run with a poison island you can't reach, maybe your onbu has a canyon across it's back, things like that. Would be a great way to incorporate the skins and add replay value. Still a great game, and would highly recommend.
Onbu is so cute to watch. I get caught up watching him. Also when he swam in the ocean, I was over the moon! It was so cute. I love to pet him and I don't want to harm him, I love doing things for Onbu. The animation that the game starts with is very beautiful as well, i kinda wish there was more villager models for men and women and children but that's just a nitpick it's really fun to play.
Endgame is a nightmare it doesn't let you get to the point in most cozy city builders where you can just lay back and let it run it needs constant micro management and the happiness tracker is very punishing
The Wandering Village is such a cozy, beautiful survival game. You really get attached to your Onbu and the general aesthetic feels very Hayao Miyazaki.
