I loved the first two games in this series so I was keen to continue Clementine's story. I never grew to like or relate to the struggles of this season's main character nor pretty much any of the characters introduced in this season. The dialogue choices here weren't as representative of what the character ends up saying, unlike the previous two games. That leads to unintentional story directions, and some of those story directions are frustrating to have to then deal with for the rest of the game. I haven't watched most of the Walking Dead TV show, so I don't know if four years in there lead to Mad Max style settlements and crazy inter-human warfare as this season does, but I found that so unbelievable. There's a character nicknamed Jesus, which is just so dumb and out of place. I hated that there were mandatory romance subplots here, and being painted as a villain for not engaging in them was annoying. I managed to get into the story sometime in Episode 3 or 4, but the jarring dialogue resolutions kept me disinterested. Most characters only added to the story, briefly, when they died, and while occasionally shocking, I did not feel anything for them, unlike previous games.

Grafika moim zdaniem na minus ale połączono tu zwykłego Walking deada z tymi mechanizmami walki i innych qte z Michone co daje fajny efekt. Fajnie, że decyzje mają trochę większe znaczenie i mamy realne 4 zakończenia, gdzie zdobycie w teori najlepszego jest całkiem trudne bez poradnika. Ogólnie nadal gra na plus. Тест диалогов периодически обрывается, не успев прочесть целиком. Первый же эпизод - пропаганда насилия, мата, алкоголя и анаши.
The Walking Dead: A New Frontier me ha parecido un juego increíble y, hasta el momento, uno de los que más he disfrutado de la saga. Su historia es de las mejores que he visto en estos juegos, con un enfoque muy centrado en los personajes y en los conflictos personales, algo que le sienta especialmente bien. El gran protagonista aquí es Javier García, un personaje que me ha gustado mucho. Todo lo relacionado con su familia, especialmente con su hermano, añade una carga emocional y un “morbo” muy interesante que hace que la historia enganche todavía más. Las decisiones que tomamos tienen bastante peso y afectan de forma notable al destino de los personajes, lo que hace que te impliques mucho en todo lo que ocurre. Aunque en esta entrega no controlamos principalmente a Clementine, sigue teniendo un papel importante en la historia, algo que se agradece mucho y que conecta esta temporada con las anteriores. Se mantiene la fórmula clásica de la saga: decisiones con tiempo limitado, múltiples caminos y una narrativa muy centrada en las relaciones entre personajes. Además, esta entrega destaca especialmente por su carga emocional, con momentos bastante intensos que hacen que la historia se sienta más personal. En cuanto a logros, no hay complicaciones: se desbloquean automáticamente al completar los capítulos, por lo que el 100% llega de forma natural simplemente disfrutando del juego. En definitiva, otro título maravilloso dentro de la saga. Para mí, uno de los más destacados hasta ahora, con una historia muy potente y personajes que realmente dejan huella. Esta saga se está convirtiendo en un descubrimiento increíble que no deja de darme horas de disfrute. Muy recomendable.

TWD: A New Frontier é o terceiro jogo da saga de TWD, e dessa vez acompanhamos outro protagonista que é o Javier, no inicio estranhei de não ser a Clementine, mas depois entendi. Ela tem um grande envolvimento nessa historia, e ela aprende muito com o nosso novo protagonista, acompanhamos novos personagens extremamente bem construidos, e o drama e temas familiares presentes são mais fortes do que nunca, tem muitos finais diferentes, e cada escolha realmente muda completamente a historia, recomendo muito!

This is easily the weakest entry in the series. Javi is a boring protagonist, and the main story is about him getting involved with his brother’s wife than a compelling Walking Dead plot. Clementine is here because the writers clearly felt obligated to include her, but she barely matters to the actual story. The writers should have either fully committed to a new cast without her or given her a much more meaningful role. Tripp and Eleanor are probably the most interesting supporting characters, but that’s a pretty low bar. The story isn’t necessarily a mess, it’s just not very engaging and the overall plot feels weak. Technically and visually it’s fine, but compared to the other games in the series, A New Frontier is easily the least memorable.
