TL;DR: buy it. Now. Puzzle lovers: most of the puzzles are somewhat in between quite good and awesome. Just a couple of them are easier solved with brute force than using logic. Completionists: Don't buy it. I'm still missing one or more gems, despite following a 100% walkthrough step by step (or gem by gem). There is no way to identify which one is missing or which one didn't trigger. Got this game for 1€. Best deal ever.
If you are looking for another game like Half-Life, you are in the wrong spot. If you have been longing for The Witness and Talos Principle (sans the story) to have a child, now you are on to something. There are a wide variety of puzzles and they are well thought out. The open world is inviting with nice sounds and background music. As in many of these types of games, observation is key. You accumulate tools/skills as you go which adds to the interest. Finding all of the gems became, well, personal. It would have been nice if I knew how many to even look for without having to dig through the discussions in the community and then show a running tally of how many were left. It's 137 total BTW. Some of which are required (65) to unlock the "challenge" areas/puzzles to advance the game, so a wee bit of math then becomes required to figure out how many are left to find (72). It would have been REALLY nice if there were an indication on the map sectored by the seven main areas showing that I had accumulated 23 of 27 in this section, etc. It feels like half of my almost 18 hrs of playtime were looking for the final 3 gems. Like I said, it became personal. : ) My only REAL con is that there are several puzzles that require a lot of keyboard acrobatics and there is no in game save. Kinda sucks getting almost to the end of a sequence only to have to start completely over because you misjudged that last jump. Overall, I highly recommend this game if you like the casual, open world puzzle thing. If you really wanted to shoot zombies, alien creatures, and/or baddies, not so much. I didn't find any fauna at all. Trust me, I LOOKED EVERYWHERE! stupid gems... ;) -Snoop
Tolles Spiel. Gute Rätsel. Solche Spiele suche ich immer. Sehr zu empfehlen.
as a puzzle game lover, i can give this game an easy 10 out of 10 , the World is just amazing, everything is perfect as it is, if you love the puzzle genre game don't miss this one trust me you will be very satisfied je peux donner à ce jeu un facile 10 sur 10, le monde est tout simplement incroyable, tout est parfait tel qu'il est, si vous aimez les jeux de puzzle alors ne manquez pas celui-ci croyez-moi, vous serez très satisfait merci beaucoup
Very impressive and very worth the money if you like "hardcore" puzzle games like The Witness or Myst and want to try something from a solo developer. I think there are two things that could use improvements: player direction and puzzle variety. There's a certain excitement being dumped on an island left to your own devices to figure out what to do, but that fades quickly. It can be frustrating not feeling like you're progressing if all you've done is run around trying to figure out what to do for 15 minutes. What made/makes a game like The Witness so interesting, and what I take to be one of the main inspiration for The Trials, is that it's hard, but the player is taught everything they need to know in a _relatively_ linear order, _then_ left to go explore. Puzzle variety is pretty straightfoward. There's a lot of the same type of puzzle repeated in different combinations scattered throughout the island. All that said, if you're someone who is craving more The Witness / Myst and have $2, you should try this!
Great variety of puzzles, an interesting mixture of logic and deduction based puzzles and all that in a world without loading screens. Also the game has a lot more content and polish than I expected, given the low price.
Surprisingly complex, fun puzzles who also get very tough in the later stages. Chill piano music, great visuals, no story (but also none needed). Just a fairly big open island with barely any tutorial or lore/text describing how the puzzles or mechanics work, which remind a lot of The Witness. Some great twists on known puzzle elements like teleporting or time traveling/recording actions. Secrets that are both mentally and "physically" (jumping, parkouring) interesting to solve. Some of the solutions quickly push the boundaries of the mechanics. Those could be explored more, though the puzzles never get overwhelming nor boring to solve. 3 Euros for an entertaining 5 hours is unbeatable. My only complaint is having no frame-limiter or V-Sync, turning my computer into a helicopter trying to run the game in the 1000s of fps. Other than that, I'm looking forward to the second one and wonder what BLUE LIFE is cooking up next =)

I'm too stupid to solve any of the puzzles, but the game won't let me cannonball into the ocean to free myself. Maybe that's the whole point.
Decent puzzle game, especially for the price.
