I simply asked the developer a few questions in their bug report thread. This resulted in a ban from the community hub, I have no idea why the questions would warrant a permanent ban on the community hub. Here's a picture of the ban I received for no apparent reason. So with this I can not recommend anyone playing this game at all. https://imgur.com/a/Ui0bNAe
One-to-one about the principle with KnightsandDungeons, only unlike the latter with normally drawn characters and objects. A mechanic is not enough for an idler, but a few hours while away is fine. The game is quite funny. Although I don't like the visuals of the game, it plays a lot better than it looks.

Absolute pile of steaming ♥♥♥♥ and that is being as polite as possible.
Got about 40 hours in and then go to load my save file this morning, and it's gone. Uninstalling.
Funny how this reminds me of an alpha version i created in 1997 (yeat 11/text based) in Pascal as part of an IT class. But these days this is just another version of time wasting and money grabbing (yes it has a $$$ charge attached to its store page). Slow manual travel and locked to keyboard buttons (mouse has been around since 70's !!!) A typical time waster.
I genuinely dont find any of your games enjoyable. Dont take this personally, I think if you refined your style, your games would come off better for sure. This game is just a bore, nothing guides you to do anything. I just assume to go to the tower and sit for awhile, which filled half the screen with a bunch of text which I eventually pinpointed where I was being rewarded for the kills, which should be outlined from the rest. Then allocating TP, Talent points, at first i didnt even know what it meant, then when I went to spend them i didnt even know what I was spending them on until I went into the tower and connected the dots on the numbers changing on stats. All you have to do is zoom out on the inventory screen or something so it can say Crit Chance or Crit Rate, I havent tested, but I bet it doesnt even do offline earnings, which is a STAPLE of idle games. I know you got talent! I believe can do some good work, I really want to see it. Now let me have it!
A good and interesting game in the Idle genre. All the more reason to play it for free. A big plus for Knights and Castles is the automation, which makes the game not get boring so quickly.
Usual Idle rpg, follow the statistics, beat more and more powerful enemies over time, become stronger. Various monsters, equipment, skins - all this is available. The game is purely for those who like to see beautiful numbers in statistics.
Knights and Castles is a freemium 2D retro pixel JRPG/idler (just sit there and do nothing while numbers go up) "game" that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. The game is displayed in an ugly, lazy retro pixel style loosely aping JRPGs but it looks worse than early JRPGs from the 1990's when the developers didn't have computer hardware that could do better. All you do in the game is move around between different buildings to upgrade your stuff and head into the "Tower" to automatically grind XP. The gameplay is incredibly shallow and unengaging, the type of thing mobile app peasants enjoy very much but it's beneath PC gamers. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs. In the case of Knights and Castles while this appears to be free, it's just a demo/incomplete version and you're expected to pay $5 for the full/latest patched version of this GameMaker Studio construction kit effort. I can't recommend that.
