The Surprising Adventures of Munchausen

Alright, honestly the game isn't too bad, but there are things I have problem with that lead me to headaches and I don't like headaches, especially when I'm playing a game to have fun. > First of all, if you dare to attempt to click on continue or skip while the Voice Acting is still doing its job, the Voice don't stop. So picture yourself reading fast enough and having the text of 3 scenes read at the same time. > When you launch the game, you HAVE to deal with the beginning of the story being told to you in a really slow manner. Alright, fine by me, but the second time, when I click skip and now have the voice acting and the music coupled to the game voice acting and music. Nope. Again nope. > Munchausen mocking you at every click while you're trying to click the exact place you're supposed to click because while the item is huge, you need to precisely click on a specific point for it to work gets old after 3 minutes and a half. > There are really few scenes, the beginning may make you think that you will be there for a while, but the game can easily be finished in 2 hours, probably less if the loading weren't taking so long that you end to click several times because it feels like you need to click a really specific place for it to lead you somewhere.. Which is indeed the case at some point. Beside that, it's an original HOG, there are interesting mini games, the art is quite pretty but it's short, it has many problem and you'll forget the story 10mn after finishing the game, so for me it will be a nope.

This game is unsatisfyingly short, to the point that it feels like a demo or proof-of-concept. Still, it does have some nice things going for it. The voice acting is excellent and really funny. The association-based hidden-object scene concept is cool and very promising. Some of the puzzles involve building crazy and hilarious Rube Goldberg machines. Fun! Unfortunately, these good ideas don't cohere well. The user interface is cluttered, slow, and annoying. Some hidden objects seem unfairly hidden, even after revealing them with the hint button. An unclear and confusing discoloring technique is used to tell you which objects you're supposed to find. All in all it's a frustrating game, but there's still good stuff on it.

not a bad game but very short

The gameplay is good for hidden puzzle games and some things are quite well hidden. I would NOT recommend paying the 8.99 normal price for it, however, I got it in a bundle and so spent less than $1.00 on it. It's worth it for that price. Story is mediocre. Takes 30-90 minutes depending on how fast you can find the items.

En effet, se mêlent à cela * des associations (souris / chat ; feu / poudre etc...) * de petits puzzles * des différences * des mises en scènes (rocambolesques) Je me suis arrachée quelques cheveux... Les animations sont charmantes et le fait de pouvoir jongler entre les différents lieux pour finir les SOC ou encore de jouer avec l'angle des scènes est bien trouvé. Je recommande mais clairement pas à son prix initial !

A cute and funny hidden object game with a combination of fractured object scenes, Rube Goldberg machines, and hidden object scenes where you have to find logical pairs rather than going from a word list. Unfortunately it's quite short (I had to replay most of the game due to an issue with my save; it's really closer to 1.3 hours). I like the game very much, sometimes a slightly different type of hidden object game. The objects to be found are distributed over 2-3 pages. Das Spiel gefällt mir sehr gut, mal eine etwas andere Art von Wimmelbildspiel. Die zu findenden Objekte sind über 2-3 Seiten verteilt.

Je vais mettre un avis positif pour l'originalité mais sachez que ce jeu est extrèmement court, 2h max. Mais j'ai adoré ce mélange bien dosé de petits jeux, de recherche de parties d'objet dans le décor à assembler et utiliser, de scènes d'objets cachés à résoudre par association objet donné/objet à trouver. Et surtout les petites scènes animées à organiser pour obtenir un résultat un peu à la façon d'un Contraption Maker en plus simple. Dommage que ce soit si court et que l'histoire soit très quelconque (en même temps j'avoue ne pas savoir grand chose du personnage de Munchausen, j'ai peut-être raté des trucs pour spécialistes^^).

a very nice very short HOG with great voice acting. pros. great voice acting ok story good puzzles nice art cons. very short only 1:30 hours to beat no bonus story low resolution despite being very short i really enjoyed playing it but i only recommend it on a heavy discount. 5/10
