The game you know and love. For Windows 10/11. In The Sims 2, you direct your Sims over a lifetime. Give them a long existence, or leave their lives in shambles. Guide their characteristics from one generation to the next.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

This is a MUCH better version than UC. I have no idea why people say otherwise. I have SIGNIFICANTLY less problems (almost zero) can still use mods, cc, cheats, everything looks and runs fully smoothly. Best Sims 2 experience I ever had considering how much I struggled getting it to run in the past a million times. SO happy I got this. If you want an easy Sims 2 experience with all the packs (besides IKEA) this is definitely worth it, 100%.
The best game ever, made by the worst company ever.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 5: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 4.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Steam and EA sold this game knowing that it may break at random when it encounters onedrive. And they released it knowing that your save games could only be saved into "My documents", with no capacity in the game to change the save file path. And they knew that all windows devices that have ever signed into a microsoft account have My documents as a subfolder of onedrive, that cannot be unsynced or disconnected. This is, you might notice, possibly a violation of Australian consumer law as the item was known to be defective when it was sold. The advice on the forums is "just uninstall Onedrive!" (not a solution to anyone not in the income bracket to have multiple computers/laptops and needs their device to sync information) or "just edit the registries on your computer!" which is... not a reasonable expectation of a consumer of a general purpose game. As I experienced, it can be fine for months until it just breaks. Don't buy this game if you use Windows. At a random point in time, you'll go back into a game and find that the house has reset to when you first moved in, the children have been deleted, or people and their gravestones exist in the same timeline. Or your teenagers have reverted to unaging toddlers who hover three feet above the ground and cannot interact with anything but still have needs and wants. Or you'll move a family into a home, the neighbourhood view will say they exist, but going into the house shows it as unoccupied. Your game will be broken and your neighbourhoods will be haunted.
I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. I've had 50+ hours with no crashes and zero issues. The Sims 2 is the best in the series, thanks to its attention to detail, deep emotional systems, and emergent storytelling. It balances controlled and chaotic gameplay with rich, interconnected lore, creating a highly memorable experience where small, nuanced actions feel significant. So fun and nostalgic.
игра постоянно вылетает. после сохранений семьи и игры , ничего не сохраняет . выходишь с игры заходишь заново - и нет сохранений . 5 часов игры в некуда... уже не хватает злости ... не сохраняет . не заходит . постоянно выкидывает .
Despite the game working fine on Steam Deck with occasional freezes, I cannot recommend buying the game legitimately through store or keys. Revenue will go towards a government which abuses human rights.
game just crashes. it will work fine for like 30 minutes maybe, and then it just closes out. or it will close out when i click on a neighborhood to play.
O melhor de todos. Super detalhado, estética única dos anos 2000. Muito bom
