Tetris Effect: Connected is broken on Deck, and the devs are ignoring the community on the problem and how it can be fixed. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1003590/discussions/0/595161397134199416/?ctp=7 The fact the game still has Verified Status would be comical, if it didn't encourage more people to spend money on a game that has been borked and subsequently abandoned by the devs. An update back in 2025 stopped the game running on higher settings (which it had been able to do without issue previously.) The community identified the cause, and even sent evidence to the dev team, only to be told they should just play on lower settings and no fix would be made available. Don't buy this game, even on a good sale. In fact, don't buy anything from an unreliable, gaslighting dev like this one. You never know when they'll completely ♥♥♥♥ up, break and abandon another game, just like this one. *NOTE: If you have bought the game, are playing on Steam Deck and NOT getting the 60FPS at HIGH settings that you SHOULD be getting, read through the thread above to see how to rollback to the version that played flawlessly before the devs broke it!* Edit: I'm going to update this review once a month, until the game gets fixed (if ever...) just so it doesn't get buried. I suggest everyone facing similar issues does the same!

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.78/day in the week to Aug 4 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

15 July: Enhance published a fix that essentially rolls back the broken TetrisEffect-Win64-Shipping.exe to the pre September 2025 build, thus you no longer need to downgrade yourself. Keeping the review negative for now, because I am still sour that they took 10 month for a roll back of a broken update. In the meantime I verified (thanks to Falkentyne's instructions in community thread that explain how to downgrade to pre September 2025 build) that indeed the September 2025 update caused the performance regression (which brought no noticeable changes, should have been "localisation/text changes" according to developer feedback). If you really want to check out this game, you should be prepared to downgrade for performance, but make sure to leave a negative review so that eventually developers might look into it again (e.g., before the update you could have the game on high settings without stutters in main menu). --- Original review from 9th February 2026 --- This game used to run great on steam deck and I was on my way to getting all achievements and then recommending it. However, this game does no longer work great at all, now the developers recommend setting everything to minimum which makes the game ugly. And still it is too unresponsive, has occasional stutters that would prevent you from beating it. And the worst part is that the developers do not seem to care about this issue at all, it took them multiple month for a reply that basically said that yesterday's (AMD) driver update may fix the issue while simultaneously saying that the issue is not there?! Also they basically ignore almost all post and instead say that one should open support tickets, which they then also ignore. They could at least use the steam beta branch feature to seamlessly allow downgrading versions, but they do not do it. Developers/Publishers: 0/10 Game: 4/10 (judged at minimum settings (ugly) and still not running smooth) Summary: This game does NOT run great on steam deck, you have to change to minimum settings, disable vsync and then it is playable but not enjoyable, certainly not worth its price.
Here's my opinion on Tetris Effect: Connected: It should have an Overwhelmingly Positive Steam score and it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ travesty it doesn't. This game is more spiritual experience than it is game. It's my safe space, my self-care after a hard day. It's one of the purest audio-visual experiences in the gaming space. And you're depriving youself of one of the best and most unique dopamine inducers by deciding not to play it.
I like this game, but I would like it more if I truly owned it. In the user agreement it says that you don't own the game and that you just bought a licence to play the game. That part is quite lame.
Sometime in September, an update was pushed out that causes the game's framerate to tank on the Steam Deck and a lot of AMD graphics chips. If you turn the game to minimum settings, it's still barely functional. Since then, the devs have refused to admit there's a problem and don't seem to plan on fixing it or even adding a rollback version for Deck players. I'll update this review if it's ever addressed. In the meantime, please stay away unless you intend to play on a desktop with Intel/Nvidia graphics - the game is broken. If you give it a chance anyway, remember that Steam has a refund option if you need it.
This game opened my third eye. I can hear colors and taste shapes.
Tetris Effect is everything and anything Tetris can be, be it a fun puzzle game, a relaxing meditation exercise, a lesson in proper resource allocation, a commentary on the fallacies of induced demand, a audio-visual feast for the senses, an excuse to type up a specifically pretentious-sounding Steam review at 1:24 in the morning when I can't sleep due to the restlessness caused by my ongoing fight with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, an accessible means for experiencing chromesthesia, a-
this game genuinely pulls me out of panic attacks and helps me reset better than anything else. the visuals and audio are unmatched. get this game i swear you won't be disappointed
I am lucky to not have strong light sensitivity so I can play this. It is a very beautiful and challenging Tetris game otherwise.
