Solidna, klimatyczna i wciągająca gra. Fanom taktycznych RPG zdecydowanie polecam.
Good idea, but very poor execution. Honestly, u have all the fundamentals of a good tactical game, EVEN THO the UI is so useless (no attack range indicator in a game with 18 tiles range, you'd be counting ♥♥♥♥ every turn on max difficulty). However, one thing ruined it for anyone who's got half a brain: No 100% hit rate, in a game where you got extremely limited turn count, PLUS multiple side objective(sometimes revealed half way) per stage. 1. Artificial difficulty introduced by 91% hit rate In this game, when you kill an enemy, you got all action points refilled. So the tactic relies on: Teammates soften up enemies to kill threshold, your damage dealer move to flank, kill, lank again, kill again. And in such a game, the stupid designer decided to make the supposedly 100% hit rate(open field, gun in enemy face) a 91-95% hit rate. What is that? that's a ton of S/L if u want to enjoy the game. Otherise, your dps kill streak miss and stand still in open ground -- instant kill it is, since enemy easily deals 18 dmg per hit on the first stage (when you do 5/6 most of times). 2. The game will be lost if you don't meet the turn count, and it's very very strict. For the FIRST level, you got 4 turns, to clear 9 starting enemy on turn one, clear the roof top 2 snipers and half the enemy in church(4 - 5 to win enuff time) on turn two, and kill the boss on turn three. And probably waste one turn in moving towards enemy (the church is an entire turn's move range away). Therefore: You CANNOT waste a single step, yet your hit rate is not 100%. Go figure that. 3. Side-quest that spawns half mission They don't even tell you all quest objectives, and only reveal it during the fight -- SO, you have to REMEMBER it by trial and error, then replay the whole stage. I severely don't know how the whole industry is devolving to a point where no one understand statistics/math. Just do a simple calculation okey? 90% seems very high, but for a perfectly steup 3-men kill streak(the minimum in need per turn in this game), there's only 73% chance you can land it. Meaning that, for every 100 player, 1/3 of them need to reload and try again. Otherwise they waste a turn and can't finish the stage in time. Think about it, the designer is like so brain-dead, he thinks it's a fair challenge that u have to: 1. Reload game to land reliable kill-streak, 2. Arbitarily losing the game with a turn count in his mind, FOR EVERY STAGE! 3. Replay stages just to remember the objectives, that he could have simply just disclosed. Conclusion: You have no talent, no brain, and no dignity, go ♥♥♥♥ urself and do some other jobs. Thanks a lot.

Good game. Solid combat and good story. This is not a game with character classes, perks and skills, or weapon modding. The combat levels are much more of a puzzle than 'bring a team that overwhelms your opponent with your min/max setup." So, if you're looking for XCOM, this isn't it. That isn't to say that if you like XCOM you won't like this game (I am a big XCOM fan and still like HW II). Just know that it is different going in. Hope there is a III.
This is an XCOM-like game, with a fun atmosphere and characters. The game is set in a spooky and somewhat dark version of the old American West. I really liked the characters and their little stories. A twist on the usual XCOM mechanics is that when one of your people kill an enemy, they get a refresh of all their action points, so you want to set up runs where one of your characters can kill, kill and kill again. There is no levelling up exactly but you get cards that you can arrange into poker hands that give each of your characters different abilities. Better poker hands give the characters better abilities. Each of the six characters play differently and has unique skills but more or less fit into the usual archetypes of sniper, healer, melee plus classes I'd call gunslinger and witch. I'm a slow player, and I'm about 2/3 of the way through with all the side quests with 30 hours. Picked this up on sale a while ago, finally got around to playing and really enjoying this way more than I expected.
Got the game in a Humble Bundle so I checked it out. To me it was very boring and became too repetetive already an hour in. I wouldn't recommend
Crashes immediately unless I delete the Audio folder entirely, but then the game launches and is mute. Bought this crap in a humble bundle so I can't even refund it. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
Right off the bat, its definetly the type of game that is not for everyone. I'd say I might be somewhere in between. I dont think I could say I really enjoy it, but I did have some fun. This game is like trying something new to the current gaming market and mixing it up. If you wanna get away from the typical games and try this Strategy game then go ahead. And YES—keep in mind... it is a STRATEGY GAME. Not really about the graphics or the character or art design. Mostly just the technique and it does well in its own field. I just dont know if I can say its own field is very good to start off with. But ey, its def a hit or miss game. Buy if cheap or free.
While game offers interesting story premise, good VO and nice visuals, it offeres very shallow combat system which is boring as hell. Each (of 6 total) chars offers only 1 signature ability and you'll unlock 2-3 upgrades to it via poker hands. That's it. So every single combat is the same, and some encounters are loooong. It's a shame, since 1st game offered far more tactical options.
One of the times I've most wished Steam had a neutral option for reviews. Hard West 2 isn't a bad game necessarily; everything it does works fine and is decently enjoyable. Had this been my introduction to the series I'd absolute have loved it. But compared to the first game, it's just boring. The original Hard West is sometimes viewed as overly difficult and punishing, but I love it, jank and all. Every level felt like a puzzle, in a similar way to Hotline Miami. In Hard West 2 however, the answer every single time is the new Bravado mechanic. Similarly, unique guns and abilities are gone, all that you get for making progress is higher numbers on your stats, and tankier enemies. It's defiantly a more approachable game than the first one, but at the cost of losing its real strenghts.
