great game and a hard puzzle game to be sure but the logic is solid and its very enjoyable to play
VCV Rack - The Game (and I mean that in the best possible way). It is like if you took a Zachtronics game and made it about music/audio signals.
I mostly enjoyed The Signal State, but I have to admit that puzzle fans would not be missing much by skipping it. Honestly, the same may even be true for people who would otherwise enjoy this kind of game. The puzzles are decent, but the experience is undermined by a number of rough edges: * UI transitions that should be instantaneous—such as entering or leaving a puzzle—often take two or three seconds. * When entering a puzzle, I sometimes see my previous solution for a single frame before it flickers away. It makes the game feel as though it is not handling its state cleanly. * Ctrl+Z does not work as you would expect. There is no reliable way to undo every change made to a solution. * The tips often come across as patronising rather than helpful. * The interface makes poor use of the available screen space. The conversation preceding a puzzle is placed in a separate tab, when it could have been displayed beside the puzzle area, similar to *Opus Magnum*. * Double-clicking anywhere on a saved solution puts it into rename mode. This is unintuitive; I would expect renaming to require double-clicking the name itself, not any part of the save block. And if you double click the new solution button, nothing happens! you have to select it, then click another "new solution" button. It's all a bit strange. There is a worthwhile puzzle game underneath all of this, but the lack of polish makes it difficult to recommend enthusiastically.
nice puzzles with some story
Fun little logic game in the style of Zachtronics. Wish it had more puzzles.
