I'm very on the fence with this one. The atmosphere is easily the best part. It has some nice visuals, and the opening investigation/walking sim section was genuinely the part I enjoyed most. The problem is that the further I got, the more frustrating it became. A couple of puzzles had me completely stuck, not because they felt difficult in a satisfying way, but because the game gave me NO guidance on what it wanted. I eventually had to look up a guide, which is usually the moment my patience leaves. The chase scenes also felt confusingly placed, Cthulhu kind of shows up for like a minute, and the ending left me more puzzled than unsettled.
3/10 Punkte.
I wanted to like this game so badly...The first half was genuinely good. Walking around the shoreline, witnessing these Eldritch events, exploring the stories of the sailors that came before... That was good, and I liked it. But around the midpoint, when you get the artifact to shoot things with, that's when things took a turn for the awful... The Artifact itself turns this from a creepy psychological game into...just fps slop. The chases were no longer tense because you could just shoot what you needed to. The puzzles were infuriating, starting with the Dagon one. That one SERIOUSLY needs some guidance. I was running around for 30 minutes wondering what the hell to do, and I just so happened to hover the blue orb over one of the statues eyes. There NEEDS to be some sort of guidance there... And I refuse to speak about the Shoggoth ♥♥♥♥. That actually pissed me off. The story becomes weird and feels incomplete...I'm left with more questions than answers. Like what happens with Cthulhu? He shows up, throws a tantrum and then ♥♥♥♥♥ off for the rest of the story. The ending sequence with Azathoth is just bizarre and feels like it was shoehorned in, and even his daughter's existence is thrown into question, which was our entire motive for this entire venture. I only paid $5 for this and I am still requesting a refund. I'm sorry devs, but this needs some serious work. You were doing so well in the beginning, but I feel like you lost sight of what this game was going for in the beginning and just started trying to fit as much Lovecraftian and bizarre ♥♥♥♥ in as you could.
I went in open minded and played through to the end. It was ok at best and bad at worst. Didn't enjoy it really. Not fun.

Not a bad little game about Lovecraftian stuff.
Reseña de The Shore

Captivating atmosphere, with enjoyable graphics. However, the chase scenes feel hit or miss and the game doesn't include all to much replayability. Overall, the vibe was spot on and thought the addition of sea creatures or shoggoths being behind you a certain moments a great addition.
