The Princess' Heart is a cute and funny role playing game with Aerin, a protagonist who goes through her own emotional journey and matures through learning not to be so dependent on her love interest's approval and validation. She learns to value herself more and becomes braver, more willing to sacrifice herself for others and own up to her flaws. I really liked it. Aerin's friendships were also really touching and her team is great. Gavin is hilarious and sympathetic. His comment 'I am not old yet' gives me the giggles for some reason. I wanted to tell him that there's nothing wrong with being old. Mother Serena (the nun) is sharp tongued, smart and principled. I didn't like LiQuan being tactless with Aerin, but I admire him for talking honestly with her. Tommy...well, I like how brave he is and how talented he is at combat, even though I don't always like his comments. The animation is pretty cute, and I liked the exciting and beautiful music. The menu theme and world map music is excellent and makes you feel like you're in another world. The combat music is dramatic and tense, and fits the combat scenes appropriately. The gameplay is pretty easy to figure out - you use the enter key to select options and save your game, or to equip your characters with armour or heal them with items. You can use the arrow keys to select options in the menu, and use arrow keys to move your characters from one location to another. One thing to consider - don't use the auto function in combat. It's handy at the beginning, but makes winning battles much harder later on, as it selects random combat moves that can cause you to lose battles that don't match the opponent you're facing. I also found the auto button hard to cancel once I've selected it (as the game then moves through different options but doesn't let you select the manual combat mode for at least 30 minutes, in my experience). You're better off using your own strategies and picking your own combat moves in the game, in my opinion. I would recommend that the auto function in battles be changed so that it's only used for low level enemies that are easier to fight (but the game dev doesn't have to do this, this is just a suggestion, not a command). I definitely recommend this game for anyone who likes character driven and story rich role playing games.
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
I am the only who love this game?
Nice game, I would defenitely recommend it! would be nice if you leave me a steam comment if i could help you! Thanks!
Typical RPG game created with RPG Maker. The history presented in the game is interesting, though sometimes it seems trivial. The fight is based on a customed system which is used in RPG Maker. We will face oo Quite a large number of enemies, from ordinary people after all sorts of monsters. We own team, and each protagonist have own special skills. PS. I sorry for my bad english.
woof!
This game's plot is founded on a few interesting concepts that unfortunately go absolutely nowhere due to a distant, simplistic narrative style that just seems to assume you'll imagine all the character development and nuances of personal growth yourself. Most of the cast are 1-dimensional blocks of wood who will occasionally chime in with a line or two of reactionary dialogue, but not actually influence any part of the plot or each other through their words or actions. Every opportunity - and there are many - to explore the personality and nuances of the protagonist, and grow her as a person, is invariably ignored and passed by. There are no consequences whatsoever for the protagonist's wrongdoing, and her blitheness is only ever rewarded, yet the story presents itself as one in which she's supposed to be a sympathetic or even heroic figure. Forget "Show, Don't Tell" - this game's carefree narrative approach doesn't even bother with "Tell". Gameplay should never be a consideration for RPGs, as they are boring by design, but even by the low standard of the genre, this game's technical aspects are lacking. Fulfilling most of the unengaging sidequests loses any gameplay purpose halfway through, due to the rewards only ever being skill points that, after a certain point, you simply don't need. Enemies and bosses are heavy-hitting damage-sponges, and some party members simply don't have any utility beyond the early dungeons. An optional character, one that you can give up as part of a sidequest, is an absolute necessity in the late game and against the final boss. The shop system's ever-rising prices are frustrating. The game feels crude, in and out of battle. Of the 3 Roseportal Games products I've played now (this, Whisper of a Rose, and Sweet Lily Dreams), none has been a decent RPG, but at least with WoaR and SLD, the writing felt PRESENT, if inept. It's inept in The Princess' Heart, too, but more than that, it simply feels absent. Due to a Kickstarter reward, I got this game for free, and I STILL feel like I paid too much for it. Not recommended.
