The Power of Fish

Holy HECK is the Extra Game Mode spicy! An excellent take on a fishing minigame, expanded into a substantial 7-hour experience just for the first, easiest playthrough. And this additional difficulty is definitely gonna take a while to clear. Very fun, and great value for its price! Update: Took me about another 8 hours to 100% Extra Mode. Not too bad once you get the ball rolling.

good game - needs screen resolution options (i have a 1440p monitor, and it doesn't fullscreen, so it's permanently got stuff in the background) also would really love to be able to spend a resource on permanent upgrades. probably out of scope, but if anything, i would love to see what answers have shown up with traits before, if they're good and evil, etc, bcos it just leaves my mind eventually and i feel like i can't gain tempo. otherwise, recommend, it's fun

The fishing minigame is fun and the quiz portion is surprisingly tricky. Love this game!

Ok, with a bit of thinking and a response from the dev, I feel bad leaving a negative review, even if I still don't know that I would recommend the game (and not without qualifications). But I decided to put a bit more effort into expanding my review at least. It tries to combine being a fishing game with a creature collector using a twist of guessing your fish's characteristics, which is a neat concept. I like fishing games, I like creature collectors, and I like puzzles, so it seemed like an obvious chioce. For me, however, the fish interrogation wore out its welcome pretty quickly as it's just the same four questions over and over again, so it's very repetitive, and the correct choice is always very obvious or completely obtuse. Incorrect choices making the fishing minigame more annoying makes the creature collecting aspect of the game more tedious. It got very grindy very quickly, and repeating the same questions over and over again to slightly level my stats so I could catch different fish to ask the same questions stopped being fun much faster than I'd hoped. Navigating the UI settings is not the most user friendly as I apparently missed how you can change to full screen, but the game launches immediately with music blaring in a windowed mode with no obvious settings buttons, while hitting escape only offers to close the game. The msuic got on my nerves almost immediately, so having to get through the opening scenes of the game before I could try to find the settings in the encyclopedia didn't give me a great starting impression. However, I think there was a lot of work put into the fish collecting aspect, it tried something different, and it's not exactly an expensive game. I didn't enjoy it, but I can why others might.

Its a really really cute little game. Sometimes some of the questions offer absolutely no insight though and when you reveal their trait, you can sometimes think, what why is it that? I wish it just made a bit more sense as its kind of frustrating to to be punished for 3 casts because the answer didnt fit a trait at all

A simple and fun fishing game. The mechanics are very solid and easy to learn. The costumes and character are also super charming. It really reels you in and you'll be hooked for hours, trust me. In the end, it can all be done with The Power of Fish.
