I wound up getting a refund on this one. In about 20 minutes I would estimate I was ~ 1/3 of the way through. It just isn't fun - I was still at the point of turning valves randomly to see whether anything would happen and never got to the point of intentionally accomplishing anything. I stopped when I had to enter a 4-digit code that I had no clues for because I realize I didn't care enough to go back and search again to see whether I had missed anything. One of the oddest things is something that's a cross between a diary and a solution manual -- it spell out in great detail what you have done as you advance in the game -- but you can't use it as a hint because it only completes after you solve things, but it's not narratively interesting either as it's pretty much a mechanical description of the solution you just did. I'm sure what the purpose of that is actually. But as I said, the game never grabbed enough to be overly curious. Yes, it's cheap. No, it's not worth it.
Fun little escape game
1rst review: 2019-07-04 2nd review: 2019-11-10 In Options menu:

Fullscreen checkbox and dropdown arrow style are not in a pixelated style while the rest of the game is. I would change those to stay consistent. 2019-11-10 Fixed
If you click new game and go inside the options menu, the new game name panel is on top of the menu. Going in a different menu should hide the new game name panel. 2019-11-10 Fixed
Main menu:

I'm not too sure about the saturated red and green color button when you enter your game name. I think it kinda clashes a bit with the other color on that screen? 2019-11-10 Changed Has been changed to orange-brown, but now I'm not sure it is 100% better. Maybe the best would be to have an orange-brown with a small tint of green/red? because the green and red does indicate to the player red = cancel and green = validate.
You can actually make 2 games with the same name? There was no confirmation of anything when entering the same name again. I guess I can check the last time one game was played. I'm beginning to think that maybe game don't even need a name since you have the last time played and the progression. :P
I couldn't find any slider to change the sound/music while in game (neither in the option menu), the pipe breaking into steam sound is quite loud 2019-11-10 Fixed A new slider is now in the options menu. (But why is the menu call options and when you click on it it's settings?)
No mute checkbox
No validation on file delete? Bye bye my save file lol
Mouse over the color of "cancel" and "continue" button is so subtle I didn't even saw the color changing the first time. Either make it more contrasted or remove it. 2019-11-10 Fixed Much better contrast!
Story:

Text is a bit stiff when displaying the story, maybe add text incrementally instead of in 1 big block? Or animate background with a little bit of parallax so make it more attractive. 2019-11-10 Fixed
Music suddenly stopped while reading "So you decide to look for it..." After investigating, I think it's when I click outside the game and then back in again a couple of times? Because it happened while I was taking review notes on notepadd++. Same thing happened at the end when reading the story, sound cut there too. 2019-11-10 Fixed
Tutorial:

I think that the tutorial shows too many things at the same time.
Generaly speaking, it's best to keep a low number of different font else it can be hard to read / not harmonious because everything is disparate.
Because everything is black and white, continue button is kinda lost in it. Maybe make its opacity breath of something to distinguish it from all other text on this page? I took me some time to know where to click next because I didn't notice it in the sea of black and white. 2019-11-10 Fixed Great job! Way more visible!
"submit" button? Is it actually used somewhere in the game? 2019-11-10 Changed Now it's "Submit/Next"
Typo:

"Hoorglass" should be "Hourglass" 2019-11-10 Fixed
Typo? in "Now that it`s the morning," the apostrophe look like an accent "`" (instead of "'", but i'm not sure it might be the font used 2019-11-10 I'm not sure but I think it's the same
Visual:

Elements with pressure could be animated. Example, animate the pressure needle instead of switching it drastically from one place to the other 2019-11-10 I think there is no new animations
Maybe add more visual effect like where the steam is now flowing? Example making a little animation for the pipe? Quite frankly, while playing the game I didn't understand the directions of the valves at all. I just clicked until it does something. If you add like a wave/bump in the pipe to show where the steam is it would be more evident to play! 2019-11-10 Changed Now there is a white visual indicator where the steam is flowing and dark grey when not flowing to help understand where the steam is!
I don't understand why the picture of the granny comes to life and kill me with a frying pan?!
Why is the font at the end of the game not the same as the one in the turotial? 2019-11-10 Fixed
Credits are not in pixelated style 2019-11-10 Fixed
Make "Exit" and "Show Help" the same size maybe? 2019-11-10 Fixed
In the game:

Exit doesn't bring back to main menu 2019-11-10 Still doesn't
It would have been useful to add right click when changing the 4 digit combination. Like left click increment and right click decrement because it takes a long time (19 clicks) to return to "0" when trying different combinaisons. 2019-11-10 Still no right click
I think the sound effect for the 4-digit combination could be improved/changed
Music get repetitive when you've been in the game for a while *piano key: dah, DAHh, DAAAAH*
The "it's too hot" message
keeps getting bigger I don't know why resulting in white picture with the golden thing in the middle and I can't go back to the game O.o
2019-11-10 Game exit after that screen, need to restart game, not too sure what is happening there.
Notebook picture #26 has an element 1 pixel different from the others images (on the left side) you can see it by browsing the other pictures and comparing with the 26th one. 2019-11-10 Fixed
When finishing the game,
the panel with the 9 symbols and the 4 slots where the Simon's pieces were is over on top of the black screen
2019-11-10 Still not fixed
There is no in-game timer to help you count the time that you have been in the game. It could be useful to see a timer when doing the speed run achievement 2019-11-10 Fixed Now there is a clock permanently visible :)
-Achievements:

Some achievements didn't trigger in my first playthrough (1,4,5) 2019-11-10 I can't test this again since I already have them now
Positives aspects:

+I like the pictures in the notebook I think they are well done
+It's nice to see the machine pushing the Simon's buttons, better than some other mechanism without animation =)
+I like the flashlight helping discover hints 2019-11-10
+I like that a timer is now permenently visible at all time :)
+Lots of fixes an improvement in the august patch!
+Added a guide for people how are stuck, nice =D
Suggestion:

It would be nice to have a custom cursor to follow the game thematic and an option to toggle computer mouse or in-game mouse
Make a hint system for people who are stuck. I nearly quit the game at one point (don't remember where) because I was stuck and there was no in-game help. Also, at the time of writing this review, nobody had post help on the community page or anything so stuck people can be stuck for a while and that's not fun
Maybe ask more people to test your game to catch the easy things that make the game inconsistent and fix them before release so that others have a better experience right when purchased
It was fun doing the review of the game =) I hope it will be helpful to you I think the game is quite basic and would need some changes to be more enjoyable, so I don't recommend it for now. 2019-11-10 The game has been improved quite a lot in the august patch! Lots of fixes and changes, even a new guide and video to help people who are stuck somewhere and are getting frustrated too much. I think the game is ok. I am a bit on the fence to recommend it or not because it is quite short. The price is low so if you are bored you might enjoy playing The Panel DC for a little while. To the dev: Keep up the good work!
It's a nice little puzzle game. Some of the hints are a bit hard to get or notice, I got stuck in 2 places. Overall quite enjoyable, but there isn't much replay value except for achievements.
Short and sweet puzzle game. Definitely a hidden gem, worth the 99¢ (or more, considering that the developers remade the game from scratch a few years ago). I had no trouble with the English translation. There is one minor bug:

When going to main menu, quitting the game, or finishing the game, it gets stuck on a black screen. I had to force quit and reopen the game whenever this happened.
Check out my guide if you're hunting for your last achievements!
